So I want to be a dentist and I have always wanted to be one, but I am afraid if I become a dentist and open up my practice no one will come to mine since there are so many dentists. So is this a good profession or am i just worrying about nothing? Will people come to me or will I just be bored in my office all day?

as long as you are competent and your rates are affordable you have nothing to worry about. my dad is a dentist in an area where there are over 30 dentists within 30 miles and he is successful, as are all the others

If you have a good personality and treat your patients as family, rather than $$$ signs, then you will do well. There's a continuing need for dentists as lots of people are too lazy to really care for their teeth as they should. I wanted to be a dentist from the 2nd grade and have been happy that i made that decision. Good luck in your future career choice!

That is the risk anyone takes when they first start a business. But life is abot risks and if you don't follow your dream because of being afraid of failure than I don't know what to tell you. Go for it in my opinion, there's always a dentist needed somewhere in the world!

IN THE WORLD OF DENTISTRY THERE ARE MANY CHOICES. ONE THING THEY CAN NEVER TAKE AWAY IS YOUR DENTAL DEGREE.
IF YOU DO DENTISTRY FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND END UP HATING IT, YOU'RE ALWAYS FREE TO DO SOMETHING ELSE.
LIKE MOST PROFESSIONS DENTISTRY IS WHAT YOU DO WITH IT.
REMEMBER THE MOVIE FIELD OF DREAMS. "IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME."
IT'S A GREAT PROFESSION. YES, LIKE ANY OTHER IT HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS, BUT OVERALL I'VE NEVER REGRETTED BEING A DENTIST.
