i've been having some random bloody noses for the past few weeks. i live in colorado so the weather really changes a lot here so i think that may be why. and they're not really that bad either, only the first one had a lot of blood. and then i didnt get any for awhile, and then maybe like 2 weeks ago i got 2, and then none, and then recently on saturday, and today. i also run cross country and talked to my coach who said its most likely just cuz my nose is just dry and to use vasaline(sp?) so i think ill be fine, but if anyone has any other ideas that would help. thanks!

I think your coach is right about the dry air. Vaseline will help, but we use a humidifier in the wintertime, and neither of us has had a bloody nose since.

Never ever, never ever put Vaseline inside your nose. There's a rare form of pneumonia you can get if you inhale even a tiny bit into your lungs.

Instead, use a humidifier at night. If you don't have a humidifier, you can use a crockpot; just fill it up, leave the lid off and set it on high and let it run all night (make sure it is not in a place you might step into it or knock it over).

You can also use an inhaled saline spray.
