So my boyfriends parents separated shortly after he was born, his mother says it was because she found out that the dad may of had another son born shortly after my boyfriend. At the age of 20 my boyfriend found out that it was true. He really does have a brother out there somewhere in the world. He has an older brother that he is very close to, and neither of them want to meet him. I have been trying to convince him that he should especially considering we have children now. What do you think????

I found out that i had a Sister at the age of 13, then at the age of 21 i found out i had two more sisters. All from my Father. I have met two of them and they are good People. Why in the World would they not want to meet their Brother? It is not his fault that they never met. It is not his fault that their Dad was like that. You cannot force them to want to meet him of course.

Well I would want to meet him. But it might be hard for your boyfriend to take all of that in at the moment so give him sometime and he may come around. If they were meant to meet they will! Good Luck!

Sorry but I think this means more to you than it does to him. I can see his point for not wanting to meet him. He never knew him growing up and what is supposed to happen now....they meet and automatically become best friends????

This is not your decision to make, it's his and if he choses not to meet his half brother, you will have to respect it. What you would want doesn't really come into it.

yes, i would want to meet him. but, i'm not your boyfried and neither are you. respect the fact that this is something that he does not want to do, perhaps someday, but not today. focus on your family and be ready to support him if/when he decides to confront his father's past

I would want to find him. It is not his fault what his parents did. I would respect his wishes if he chooses not to find and meet him.
