I want to travel to the Uluru from Alice Springs, but I've only one day of time. Are there busses bringing you there? Should I book it in advance? How far is it?

If you only have one day, take a flying tour. These include the flight to Uluru and ground transport to see Uluru and KataTjuta and usually have lunch at the Yulara resort as well. You can take a bus tour but it is five hours from Alice to Uluru (450km) so a lot of your time is wasted in travel. Buses are better if you are staying a day or two.

Yes definitely fly - its a helluva a long day trip - though those are offered in Alice Springs. Even flying you are rushing it and missing out in the main highlight, IMHO, of Kings Canyon.
