i'm going to be a grandfather she is my stepdaughter why am i not happy about it?

when i was as work she would bring boys in my house and have sex, she takes money, rings,games, and lies to her mother and me. she runs the phone bill up calls here grandmother tell's them lies to get what she wants. but everyone thinks she is so good. i lost my apt because she stole the money. and got behind on the car note why becasue she stole the money. when i get on her then me and my wife get into it about it. i love my wife very very much but that step daughter is hell u just dont no

I dont know, is it because she is too young, or not married, or you dont like the dad to be? If so, dont take it out on the baby, he or she is innocent. Just love the baby, and you will be loved back.

It depends on the circumstances.
I remember when our son announced that we were about to become grandparents.
We were less than overjoyed as well.
He & his wife had been in a rocky marriage. Everytime she didn't get her way, she would leave him announcing that she wanted a divorce.
They fought constantly over money issues, & quite frankly I thought my daughter in law was a nutter!
We would have been a lot happier at the time if they had announced that they had filed for divorce, & that they were finally ending it for good.
So their bringing a child into an unhappy marriage was not good news to me. Also factor in my chronic reluctance to admit that I am getting older. The thought of becomming a grandfather was shocking to me at the time.

That was over 8 years ago, & our granddaughter is an absolute joy. Our son & his wife are still married, although I sometimes wonder why, at least they finally learned to fight their battles on their own & keep my wife, & I out of it.

If you have some mitigating circumstances that are affecting your level of joy over the news, I wouldn't be too concerned about your lack of enthusiasm.
Once you get to meet your grandchild she or he will teach you how to be happy about it.

Well, how old is your step-daughter? Maybe she is too young? Only you can really answer this....you didnt really give any details as to how you feel other than you're not happy about it.

Because you are going to be a "Grandfather"... Trust me it will soak in and you will get use to the idea... It took me awhile to get use to the "Grandmother" idea,,, shoot I am still trying to get use to the idea!
