Im just talking about stories they say are sacred and only TRUE followers of Jesus can look upon them. I understand that the ACTUAL document is important but they can always make a copy that cant be destroyed.

If they are religious documents about Jesus i dont think they should be allowed to at least be spoken about to the public. If i had that kind of information I would want everyone to know

Pastor Billy says: provide an example of a document from the deposit of faith being sold for money.
There are scholars from round the world each day in the Vatican libraries you are speaking on something you have little knowledge of. I'm wondering why you are ticked off explain that also.
lovely article mike however it doesn't state the published document is accessible to those only willing to buy it. To the person asking the original question you haven't addressed any of my questions to you. Your ideas on conspiracy are extremely weak

The Vatican has a huge library of very rare documents. They don't let people touch them because of the potential damage. Many though, have been photographed and copied. Some, which might sell have likely been published. Publishers will not publish a book that will not sell.
Book conservation is quite tricky. Many papers are acidic, and will destroy themselves over time. Some paper and ink is light-sensitive, and must be stored away from light. Some paper and bindings are sensitive to moisture and heat.
Ancient texts are not like books in a public library. They cannot be safely handled time and time again. These things are not available to the general public because to make them so would inevitably destroy them.
To the strange person who said that there are no Bibles in Catholic churches, I submit that you haven't looked very hard. I have yet to see a Catholic church without one. They aren't in every pew, but they can certainly be found. Most have at least one available to the public. The reason that there are not Bibles in every pew is simply that the Missals, which are in every pew contain the readings from the Bible necessary for each service. Look through these, and you'll find them filled with scripture.

1st off religion is a scam. that being said I think the question is refering to the vaticans release, via selling the papers pertaining to the Knights Templar trials. They are high quaility exact duplicates down to errors and stains. These documents along with many others have been under lock and key for centuries in secret archives. They are selling limited edition (799) copies for ( get this) $8,377. The questioner is correct to want access to religious documents. Since your soul is at stake I think it's the very least a religion can do is to give you full access to their libraries (not the actual documents but nice free copies) so we can make informed decisions concering our souls. I can't think of a single mainstream religion that doesn't rely on patrons money to operate. Which should be another reason they should grant access.

Napper Dapper,
Catholics read the Bible in Mass every single day in every Catholic Church around the world. We have the Bible readings that are designated for that particular day printed in a booklet called a Missalette along with prayers and other parts of the Mass so that all of the congregants can easily follow along. We read two passages from the Scriptures and the Letters and one from the Gospels, plus one from Psalms along with the Lord's Prayer at every Mass. When we read these passages, we read the entire passage in context and then the priest offers his sermon (we call it the Homily) on the text. We don't pick and choose verses.
All Catholics are united in reading the same passages on the same days in every language in every country around the world. We are One Body in Christ.

So, what do you want to read? Ever visit the Vatican web site? (http://www.vatican.va) Lots of things posted there that you are free to look at.
As for holding them from the "public eye". . . ever consider that many of these documents are the one and only copy? they are most likely hundreds of years old and far to fragile to be improperly treated - or even copied?
To my knowledge, the Vatican has never sold papers in the library.

the truth would destroy religion.... they serve what is refered to as the father of the lie.... all religions have evolved through lies alone... the church has no interest in sharing truth... the bible says many things that discredit the catholics and the christians ... but they who read and study still do not see... the bible says about this that "Satan will deceive many"... the bible also says "Satan shall be called god of the earth and satan is the only one that is called god".. so although they read these words... they still go on serving god.. and attempt to hide from the puplic these verses...

so they are not destroyed. They are kept in an environment controlled area. They wouldn't last two seconds if they were left to the publics designs

the same reason they don't have Bibles in their churches (I've never seen one).
I've also never seen a Catholic with their own Bible in a Catholic church either.
