Yes, I believed for about 20 years, until the utter lack of evidence convinced me there's no god.

Thank you for asking without including insults. It is appreciated.

I find Buddhism attractive, and expect to learn more about it as I grow older. I'm not going to do the movie star instant public conversion thing, though.

About 2 to 5 years ago, when I started to really look into the archaeological evidence and the evidence for evolution. There was very little and no compelling archaeological evidence and creation was totally bogus from both a evidence viewpoint and the cases that creationist made - essentially the best you can evaluate creationist claims as is misrepresentation of the facts.

Edit:
That would make about 40 years being a believer, and about 5 to 10 times through the bible completely.

Yes, as a small child I prayed and believed in a higher power. Then, around the same time as I stopped believing in Santa and the Easter Bunny, I stopped believing in God. Why? Because the concept of God makes no sense and isn't necessary.

I was raised Catholic, but to tell the truth, I don't think I ever really believed any of it. The stories are just too fantastic. I studied all the major religions and I came to the conclusion they're all wrong, and their approaches to solving problems are either simplistic or barbaric. No, thanks.
