Renew your passport so that you will have no problem at the Border Immigration Area for entry and exit from Canada.

I understand that US citizens may travel to Canada and re-enter the US with a valid drivers license. The requirement of passport created a log jam for the department and was backed away from. Having your drivers license and newly expired passport will do the trick. If you are a young Muslim male US citizen with a beard and no passport, extraordinary rendition could be in the cards. Think of it as additional travel experience. Are you up for water boarding? It is technically not torture unless it causes organ failure so relax.

go and take out the passport before you leave.
