we are bad at math and you can't get a story straight

The Trinity
The Father
The Son
The Holy Ghost

All three are God as One

It has to do with your definitiion of a limited "god, " versus the definition of an infinite "God." A "god" is a figment of man's imagination, so in that context, your assessment that such a calculation reeks of "bad math" is correct.

However, Christians (and Jews, but their eyes have not yet seen the full revelation of God's glory) believe in God, the creator of all things. It's a very difficult challenge to use "created language" to describe something as undefinable as an uncreated entity, but this is the key point: there is only one uncreated entity: God. He has one begotten Son, Jesus who must be God in the same way that any son you might beget someday must be 100% human. There is no such thing as 1/2 God if you can see the distinction between "god" as defined as "anything that is worshiped," and "God" as defined as "the uncreated entity from whom all creation 'emanated' or 'proceeded'"

Christians say that Jesus the Son has always existed, is uncreated, and only chose to condecend to become a man solely out of His great love for His creation: you (and me, and all mankind.)

The matter of the Holy Spirit is a little more challenging, only because we have never seen (and I'm not sure we ever will see) Him. But this is the concept: man is created in God's image. As I meet you, I see you as also a three-part entity, body soul and spirit. The physical body I can see, the soul is the sum definition of your personality, and the spirit is that which animates you. God is also a three-part entity: the physical part I can see (Jesus) the soul (in God's case, the Bible tell us that "God is love," so we always see Him as a loving God,) and the Holy Spirit, that which is described as the active force behind all that God does.

I could dissect your physical body and brain and would never find your spirit, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. So, though we have never seen the Holy Spirit, we attribute the physical actions that God takes within His created world to the Holy Spirit.

All three, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are uncreated, all pre-existing all that was created, and all in perfect harmony (it must be, just as we expect in your body, soul and spirit, assuming you aren't schitzophrenic or something) with one another because they are all "God," not "gods," just as you aren't "Steel Rain" the body, "Steel Rain" the soul, and "Steel Rain" the spirit; we only know "Steel Rain" the person, and we only know "God"... the God, or better THE God.

A simple read just through the Book of Genesis with these concepts in mind might help clear up your confusion about the apparent "bad math" of the Christian.

Good luck and God bless you!

Actually, God is Infinite. He stretches on forever. So by definition, anything that's a PART of the infinite is still infinite itself.

Jesus wasn't 1/2 god and 1/2 human like Spock, he was Fully God in form of a man.

So yes, he was able to feel what we feel, and be tested as human beings are tested. He got cold, wet and hungry. One of the greatest mysteries of Christianity is how the creator of the Universe could and would be willing to lower himself to being human. "Who being very nature God, did not count equality with God as something to be grasped. Instead he made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant made in human likeness. And being found in the shape of a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him a name above all names, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth."

You know I was going to answer with something as dumb as what you asked, like are all non believers color blind.
But the truth is I really do not expect you to understand spiritual matters so your not at fault for not understanding what we believe,
The good thing is I am not one to force what I believe on others so you will not have to read a long drawn out post that you really don't care to know the answer too, to start with

You think God is limited by human arithmetic?
You think the human brain can comprehend the nature of God?

The nature of God is supposed to be a mystery -- that's the whole point. God is greater than our little human brains.

Jesus was not anything close to resembling a 1/2 . He is one , just as the father is one. Where in the world did you get that?

First of all, Jesus is fully God and fully man- it's God's way of putting himself on earth. they are the same "person"

Jesus was not a God, he was sent to earth as a mortal man, not a God. He died as a mortal man for our sins. Jesus is not the same as God, read the Bible.

Its worse than that, you forgot to add in the holy ghost. Now, if a ghost is half a person, would that make two? But they go farther than that. They count each as G-d, so now they're up to three.
