Because HE is. The world has turned against God. Yet, He still reigns as Lord of lords and King of Kings. Jesus is Lord of all creations. Becuase the world has forgotten Him doesn't mean that He has turned His back on the world.

If I understand your question, you are basically asking "Why does G-d (or in your case Jesus) let bad things happen?" The long and the short of it is this: All things serve G-d. Even tragedies, holocausts, death, destruction, and yes, even evil. G-d's hand moves over all these things to make the good out of the bad and bring understanding to those who don't see.
Think of it this way: how do we know that some things are bad if nothing bad ever happens? If G-d didn't "allow" us to do bad things, then we wouldn't have the power to CHOSE to do good things either.

We need to claim Jesus is Lord in all circumstances. Free will cause a lot of sorrow because of people's ad choices. However, heaven is the perfect place with no pain and sorrow. That is the perfect place where to our hearts are longing for.

Satan is the prince of this world. Those living in the world can accept the teachings of Jesus and make Him their Lord instead of accepting the devil. It is up to each individual, not up to the world. Jesus is NOT Lord of the world, only to those who seek Him.

To claim that Jesus is lord in a world with so many bad things happening is acknowledging that Jesus Christ has a hold of satan's leash. Basically when Adam and Eve sinned God kicked them out of the garden and gave satan control of earth satan rules earth, which mind you is slowely becoming more and more currupt, and earth is his domain. Jesus however has control over satan and satan has to go before God in order that he may act in his domain. God tests his creation and calls them to follow Jesus in order that Jesus (who died on the cross to save humanity from eternal damnation, or total seperation from God our maker), may save us from the "bad things" or demons in their own domain. So we claim Jesus is Lord because he saves everyone from an eternaty of seperation from the one who made us. If we served satan as our lord, mind you satan didn't creat humans, and ended up with him in Hell, which is reall, he(satan) would like nothing less than to rip us apart to show how much he hates God and His creation.
I hope this helps you

The answer lies in Romans 5:1-5:

"Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within out hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
