He is 55 yrs. old and developed this allergy 20 yrs ago. He has since had to give up favorite foods such as bacon, ham, sausage etc. I get concerned being in a restaurant that serves breakfast all day because I dont know how well the grills are cleaned..Im afraid he may get an attack & would have to be rushed to the emergency. Is there a way around these preservatives? Are fresh sausage safe for him to eat, I heard Organic Markets are now available and do they carry meats? Any information would be greatly appreciated, Sometimes even the heavy smell of bacon can trigger an attack & I am very worried, and concerned.. Thank You.

He should always carry an Epipen in case those allergies trigger an attack. That is less iffy than waiting till he gets to a hospital for treatment of a bad reaction.

I think he is correct about grill cleaning in those restaurants. If he is an egg fan maybe egg salad sandwiches are the way for him to satisfy that urge. No matter how fresh a sausage is it may have been made on a machine that makes sausages with those ingredients so that can't be trusted.

Just because something comes from Whole Foods Market does not make it superior. I was talking to someone who is on the staff of a medical school participating in a Omega 3 Fish oil study. They showed him a bottle of fish oil tablets that were very rancid but were just bought at Whole Foods.

If you have a Whole Foods Market in your area check out the ingredients on the package. I would think that if it claims to be organic that it would not have those preservatives in them. My brother in law and his wife shop there a lot.

I had a similar reaction - severe itching in the groin area, palms of my hands, and ear canals - after eating corned beef brisket containing sodium phosphates, sodium erythorbate, and sodium nitrite. Not sure which of those caused it, but I won't be eating corned beef again!

Organic markets carry several different types of meats. They are not cheap. Just talk yo the butchers. They can help you out.
