This would depend on what top 10 you are looking for at this time. IF you want historic, it's one list. If you want playable, it's another. Affordable, beautiful, fun, etc. they would all be different lists.

St. Andrews and Augusta National would be the top 2 on almost any list. There is good news and bad news with this. Good news is you can play St. Andrews if you stay at the hotel or set up a vacation package to do so. Augusta is not so easy to get on. You have to know a member to get on there and most people don't know that many billionaires, if any.

Pine Meadow is considered the best US course period. Again, it's private so you have to know someone. Most of the great courses require you knowing someone to be able to play them. You would have to give more details for your list to be completed.

I have played in South Africa on some great courses and have played on most of the great courses in the Chicago area. I can list you 10 of those that you wouldn't be upset about playing, but I don't think that's what you want.

The top 100 courses are done every other year by Golf Digest. You can hit their website to see the top 10 if you want.
