I don't really think I have a problem seeing parents in their pj's, slippers, etc. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, NOT every day. What I would have a problem with is seeing them picking up their children with their same pj's, etc, etc. This to me tells me that a parent can't get their lazy a*s dressed. I would understand also if OMG I woke up late, the kids are late, gotta do a million things in the morning b/f I bring the kids to school, so I think the kid would be embarassed if he/she, said child went to school in bedtime clothing, but in that case, I would understand a parent not having time to change?? But I feel you. Parents should look like parents, not tramps, or bedmongers, they should look like parents. By the way, how long does it take to put on some sweats???

The only time I really wear pjs all day is if i'm not feeling well and want to be comfortable.
I can understand someone wearing pjs in the morning (taking their children to school), but it's a little much when you're picking them up in the afternoon in your pjs.
However, I don't let it bother me. Whatever floats someone's boat. It doesn't have anything to do with me. I don't know their life story. Therefore, I don't judge anyone over what they wear.

I wear a tshirt to bed most of the time. So I usually get up put on a pair of shorts. If its a little chilly out I will put on a hoodie. Make the kids breakfast. Then take her to school. We just drive up to the door and they have teachers opening the car doors. I then Stop at Motomart and get my Coke. I don't worry about what I look like in the morning. I come home with my 20 month old do a few chores then get my shower.

My son takes the bus and it picks him up across the street from my house. I go out there because he is only 5. I try to look presentable because I know how cruel children can be. I sometimes have sweats on but hair is brushed, shoes on, teeth brushed. During the afternoon I usually have on shorts or jeans and a clean T-shirt.

i have 5 kids all in school. they all ride the bus but at times the bus gets missed. If I have to drive them I would at times wear a T shirt and pj pants but i don't get out of the car if they are late enough that i have to take them in the school to sign them in as late i get dressed. As far as picking them up in the afternoon in PJ's that is a big no no. For one my kids would kill me lol.

I think it's wonderful that you walk your children to school! I'm sure they appreciate it, and will remember it forever! And I totally see where you're coming from, but at the same time realize that not everyone 'cares' as much as everyone else! I remember when my brother was in 4th grade he forgot his lunch at home. My brother was at the bus stop, about 100 feet away from our house. My father saw the nose of the school bus coming up over the hill, so my dad ran outside only wearing his SEE-THROUGH robe (literally see-through... and NO underwear) and stopped the bus holding up my brother's lunch! My poor brother had to walk to the front of the bus to get his lunch... and hear about it for 15 years at every Thanksgiving!

Thats so funny!
Whenever I walk my daughter to the bus stop, I at least throw on jeans, teeshirt, and run a brush through my hair. I do this not only for her sake, but in case I run into a chatty parent on the way there!

I am 16, and my parents drive me to and from high school. I dont really care what they look like when they are driving (usually I just want them to hurry, lol) but if they are going to get out and walk around campus, I want them to look presentable. My mom, who is plus-sized, wears lots of goregous outfits from Lane Bryant and looks better than most of the petite moms at my school. My dad... he wears bowling shirts and shirts with running shoes, but I dont really mind because thats just the way he is.
But yeah.. if my dads running late and he's still in his robe with messy hair, I dont mind being driven to school as long as I get there on time.

I think you should practice what you want your children to do.
If you want them to get up and get dressed, eat breakfast, brush their teeth and be ready for the day.....then as a parent and their first teacher, you should do the same.
Don`t tell your kids one thing and do something else in front of
them. That teaches nothing.
They already see the other parents and want to be proud of
you for looking like you are ready for the day.
