They both have a lot in common....but perhaps the most common thing is that they believe that Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary, and spread the teachings of the Old Testament. The difference between the two on this point is that Christianity believes that Jesus is the son of God, and that Jesus was crucified, Islam believes that Jesus was just a prophet of God and was not the son, and that he was not crucified but instead saved by God and must return to earth as the savior and die like everyone else before the day of judgment.

Both originated in Asia.
Both believe in only one God - monotheism.
Both believe in angels.
Both believe in Judgment Day (for Muslims, "Day of Resurrection).
Both have a holy book (Qur'an and Bible).
Both have a "Messiah" (prophet Muhammad and Jesus).
Note: Islamic texts depict Judaism and Christianity as prophetic successor traditions to the teachings of Abraham.
Hope I helped! :D

They both believe in the God of Abraham, as do the Jews.
After that, it's mostly a matter of differences:
Muslims accept Mary as a holy woman, & Jesus as a prophet.
But they do not accept Jesus as divine, & therefore the Trinity.
Christians do not accept Mohammad as even a prophet.

Islam hate Christians, and want to destroy Christianity. They have cartoons there that show soldiers trying to take down Christians. I do not see anything in common.

They both believe in one God. For Muslims, God is remote; they focus on God's power ("God is great!") For Christians, God is very near; they focus on God's love. Muslims rely on believing certain things and doing certain things for salvation Christians know they can't save themselves; they rely on Jesus Christ to do it. Huge difference, really.
