We're going out to eat and I've never ordered a drink myself and I wonder if you all might have some suggestions on drinks I should try.

I've drank before, I've just never ordered from a bar. I was planning on sticking with amaretto sours but I just want some different opinions.

I don't plan on going out to get wasted, I grew out of that in high school. I'm just looking for variety and taste.

Here's an idea. Have all your friends order first, then try each of theirs and see what you like. If you friend has something you like try that, and if you want ask the server/bartender if they could suggest something similar. Remember to eat a decent meal before really tying one on, also make sure you have a dd. My friends still tell stories about the night we went out for my 21st, hope you have as much fun as I did. Have fun and be safe.

My absolute favorite beer is Guinness. It's dark and loaded with Hopps flavor. However, it's an acquired taste. I consider Guinness a superior beer for those with superior tastes. I'm just a dark beer guy. Most light beers taste very similar. Consumer Reports recently ranked Michelob Ultra a top buy because it's low in the fatty components, but still has good flavor. If you want something light beer, go with Michelob Ultra. It's gentle but pleasant. If you are truly a tasteful person, learn to like dark beers. Stout beer is best. Just like cigars are better than cigarettes 10 fold. And not those sissy flavored cigars.
If you want a non-beer taste then get a nice wine beverage. I think most people including myself like Red wines better. Don't spend a lot on wines though. Some are so expensive the difference in flavor is nowhere near the price. Don't stoop so low to get a boxed wine, eg: Franzia (of course you won't find boxed wine at a restaurant unless it's a wierd place). Try a Merlot or a Cabernet Sauvignion. A couple of nice red wines.
Welcome to the world of 21. Don't overindulge yourself on your new privelidges.

do in basic terms not get a beer first- start up with confusing alcohol. i'm really keen on mojitos myself. yet a martini is noticeably classic. * i will replace my anser and believe the champagne remark- in spite of everything, that is a social gathering and individuals are likely paying for for you! the following is a tip- on the top of the evening, before you pass to mattress, drink as many glasses of water as you had beverages. Prevents a hangover.

A Hurricane- it's really good- it has coconut Bacardi and fruit juices- it's so good. Be careful though you can get very drunk on them- once I was sitting down at a club- my BF was being a jerk and he was dancing and I sat there sipping away on 6 Hurricanes when I stood up I instantly fell back down- it was funny but I was wasted. Happy 21st Birthday- don't act stupid and always have a designated driver.

A Red Headed S*ut.
Jagermeister, peach Schnapps and cranberry juice.
Some bartenders serve it neat, but my customers (and I) prefer it on the rocks.
