David only heard from God through His prophets (especially Samuel and Nathan)Abraham saw God (the preincarnate Jesus)as the Angel of the Lord at the Terebinth trees.There he ate with Him and the Lord told Him about Isaac and Sodom and Gommorah.The Lord went back to heaven after bargaining with Abraham and the two regular angels went on to rescue Lot.
