I am the new Office Manager at a Doctors office and the supervisor does not like me. She is also telling lies to every new employee about me and now they do not like me either based on the lies that she told them. I am starting to fear that she is trying to cause me to lose my job, but I don't want to be a snitch and tell the Doctor whats going on. Not only is she telling lies on me, she is talking bad about certain other employees that is not part of her click. I do not know what to do, because the boss loves her, although my boss is very fair, but she trust her like she trust me. I feel like I am betraying her because a lot of things that she is doing is harming the office and the others are afraid to speak up and I do not want to be a snitch or cause her to lose her job,nor do I want the business to go down because of rudeness to the patients and the mistreatment to the employees. Please help. What do I do? Find another job? She's been there for 12 years and I've been there for two.

I had a similar situation with a woman who just never grew up. It was plain to see that the source of her deceipt was that she didn't like herself. She was not only a backstabber but she would talk so the person she was trying to hurt could hear her. I went to my boss one day when she was talking so I could hear her. He asked me what I would do about the situation. I said I would fire her on the spot and have a police escort remove her from the office. He said that wouldn't happen cause she worked for another lawyer and was not his employee. But, she never bothered me after that day.

Since your trouble-maker is a long-term employee and your boss loves her, you don't stand a chance of fixing the situation. If you went and told on her, you would be the bad guy for the rest of your days at this job. She could make your life even worse.

Walk away. Life is difficult enough without this kind of stress every day. Look for another job and when you quit this job, be honest and tell the Doctor about this unprofessional situation. The doc deserves to know what is happening and why you, a good and loyal employee, is quitting.

good luck

You can try to talk with your supervisor first and see if you can work out what the issues are. That doesn't mean you will get a great response. You can talk with the doctor about how you are feeling but very carefully but if she has been there for 12 yrs. you don't stand much of a chance. If you can't work it out with her, you may want to look for another job as you won't shake the base she already has in the office. This sounds like a no win situation for you unfortunately but give it your best shot. I recommend polishing up your resume.

Yeah, talk to the supervisor. Get things cleared out. If you can't write a letter, email. If she doesn't respond talk to the Doctor. talk about the difficulty and if he still is on the side of the supervisor, let it be. Don't leave. Work your best, show the supervisor what you are made of. Let the people come to you, they'll befriend you and eventually she'll change her treatment to you

She is disrupting the office and causing stress with the other employees. You are the office manager, talk to the doctor and if she loses her job - her fault.

Two years! Has she been like this for the past two years? Did you tick her off by being nasty to her recently?

Continue to be professional and check your p's and q's. If the doctors trust you, then you are doing fine. If the rumor is about your personal life, talk to her directly. Confront her. Most of all, be extremely professional at all time.

Catch her by herself and ask her strait up do you have a problem with me? Tell her you have heard some ugly rumors and you want it to stop. If that doesn't do it then go over her head.
