why are people still selling and owning them in the uk

Pitbulls in and of themselves are not bad dogs. When properly trained and cared for, they are wonderful dogs.
To hala L: The reason Pits are banned is because of stupid owners, not the dogs themselves. Where Pits are banned, the idiots just get a different breed like Rotties, Dobies, Mastiffs. The idiots will act the same and treat their dogs the same no matter what breed they have. Why punish the majority of responsible owners because of a few morons?

I'm getting one for Christmas. His name is Bob. We already met him and our dog came to meet him as well. and we are taking him home on 12/26. We live in Southern California.
I think banning is stupid. If they were so stupid to ban all pitbulls after a couple killed a few people why didn't they ban all Arabics after 9/11?? It's just like that!!! Just because a handful of Arabic terrorists caused a tragedy does not mean all of them are brutal!!! Most are very polite and kind hearted
Some goes for pitts!
It's kind of like a doggy form of racism banning a breed. because a few killed people.

I think it's ridiculous to ban them.
Some pits may be born with more aggressive tendencies, that's true, but it's because humans have bred them that way. The dogs should not be penalized for human error. Even WITH aggressive tendencies many pit bulls are loving family pets because they have been properly trained and cared for.

Pitbulls just have the reputation of being bad dogs. But I feel that in the right home, and if they aren't from a line of fighting dogs, they would make great pets.

Well, I own three and they are wonderful dogs. I wish people would just leave them alone already. This is really starting to get old.

I don't think anythings wrong with them. But Idk what states ban them. and I have a pitt cross, she's the most happiest dog at my home.
