this is another one of the many reasons why Christianity is illogical, hopelessly flawed, totally unbelievable, and sheer nonsense, but Christians will INEVITABLY try to come up with some double talk explanation for this.
The reason why is that god is a figment of many patriarchal imaginations who put a mean and short tempered, unreasonable father figure at the reins of the world, and it is all a lot of silly nonsense. How do they keep believing in it with a straight face? It's a mystery...

For the same reasons parents get upset when they tell their kids not to do something and they do it anyway. While you know your kid is going to do the bad thing, you still hope that they won't, and get upset when they still do. While we all understand having faith in G-d, we forget that G-d has faith in us too, and is disappointed when we let him down.
