My friend's aunt knows this Christian guy that has a daughter. My friend is Buddhist so she believes in Buddha. The daughter asked my friend questions about God, but my friend told her that she doesn't believe in God. Then the daughter began crying and told her dad. The dad was like "It's ok...We all know Buddha sucks." Isn't it bad for the dad to say and teach his daughter that...?

I think what he said was wrong, maybe not necessarily "bad" and someone should have told him that was a rude comment.

I hate ignorant people...

Dads are dads. I don't think he was intending to teach some great lesson from that comment. Dads will say anything "sucks." Laundry sucks, paying bills sucks, Notre Dame sucks... That doesn't mean the child is going to grow up never doing laundry. We all grow up, and we all make our own decisions in life. I wouldn't be concerned.

The daughter is EMO, gets it from her Dad.

Daughter started crying when she got an answer to her question?? Dad reacts to hearing of his daughter's emotional over reaction by reinforcing it with prejudice, possibly because his little girl's distress upset him?

And guess who taught the little girl to ask such questions and how to interpret the answers?

yes! What a douche bag. Sometimes children are too young to learn about religion and the differences between them. Too young to understand why a man was nailed on a cross to save them from sin.

Well, the fact that she started crying already proves that she's been indoctrinated to the christian faith. As such I would expect her father, as a Christian to say that.

Most adults have no idea how to raise children, or how to be decent people themselves. Birth control needs to be more widely available to them.

I think it's an awful way to teach a child to think... or rather not to think.
