I erupted in Psoriasis at the age of 16, first sign of Arthritis was 21. Thankfully I worked up until 15 years ago [34] when I ended up in a wheelchair in Hospital. I crawled out of the wheelchair, but then my Rheumatoid Factor started to increase, so they have now decided that I have RA and Psoriasis. I went for Disability in 1998 age 40 am still mobile except the Disc has now prolapsed in my spine and they will not operate.

I have a rather big load of issues. I have fibromyalgia, I'm slightly hearing impaired, I have weak legs after accidents I had as a kid so at times I can barely walk. I have OCD and dyslexia and recently I found out I might have Asperger's Syndrome (that has not been confirmed yet though). I used to be depressed too but thankfully that is over now. I've managed to find ways to deal with many of my problems. Keeping my sleeping pattern regular has improved my sleep a lot and helped make me feel better overall. You wouldn't believe how much effect bad sleep can have! Staying warm at all times and going easy on my body has reduced the pains and stiffness from fibromyalgia a bit. Trying to keep my life rather simple and avoiding stress has helped me a lot too. Stress can make many problems worse. Not long ago my health issues were such a burden that my life was a mess. After reading endlessly much about each condition and what things have been useful for others, I tried out many of those things and some of them helped. It took time to adjust and find the right lifestyle for me, but it was absolutely worth it. I'm sorry about your diagnosis. I recommend that you read as much as possible about M.S. and find some support group or a forum where other people with M.S. share their experience. You can learn a lot from them about how to deal with the illness. Last, but not least, focus on what you CAN do rather than what you can't. Good luck! :)
