The longest driver on the PGA tour, Bubba Watson, his average drive is 316.
Tiger’s average drive is 302. Average on the PGA is less that 290.
That been said, I hit good drives 260, Long drives 290, Average around 245. I am longer that 95% of players I have been paired with over the last 18 years.
Remember, on a 400-yard par 4, 260 gets you a 9 iron in.
How may people out there hit driver, 9 iron into a 400-yard par 4s on average?! Not many!!! I believe most golfers would be shocked if they actually figured there driving distance while playing a round of actual golf, range work and launch monitors mean $hit.

My average is between 250 and 260. When I get after it, I can touch 280.

But, I hit a True Temper stiff steel shaft. Yes I have sacrificed distance on my longer drives, but I have way more control, I hit at least twice as many fairways since the switch.

I carry the ball 280 , depending on the fairway if it's soft or hard + 25 -30 yards on a clear calm day. That's with a 10.5 degree R5 XL Taylor Made R flex .

im fifteen and hit for a junior long hitters tour, i average 311.6. I lose a LOT of balls, and my swing is by no means traditional. When I play with my friends and family I have to play from the normal mens tees and I often don't bring my driver, from the tips I still hit like 2 out of 18 fairways.

Driving distance does not matter unless you are playing a very long course... If you don't believe me try this. Find the one club in your bag that you hit crisply almost every single time you hit it (for me it is my seven iron; I can hit it about 175 yards.) Take every club longer than that club out of your bag. Play an entire round with that club up through your wedges and putter and see what your score is. When I play, I typically tee off with my three wood because it is more accurate than my driver and I still hit it over 240 yards. I usually shoot in the mid 80's. I tried the above-mentioned experiment one time and shot a 79. (the course played to 6,400 yards, so it was not a short course.) The important thing is to keep it straight, keep it in play, and know how far you hit the ball with each of your clubs.

I appreciate your honesty......if I hit the ball over 260 yards I'm extremely happy!

Actually if I hit the fairway and the distance is decent that's all that matters to me.....most of the courses I play, if you hit it 250 yards off the tee you have 8 iron or less into par fours....

i'm 36, hit a cobra speed ld, and hit between 260-280.

There are several holes i play often that i can hit 300+ practially everytime, but that requires carrying the crest of a hill and getting the good rollout, and more often then not the winds at my back.

Most people i play with hit between 240-and 280.

My average drive would be 230-240, not a big hitter but I am straight so what I lack in distance I make up for in accuracy.
Can't get in much trouble when you go straight.
As for those guys who hit 330 yds, most of them did it once in their life and keep reliving it. How many guys hit it 330, not many.
Like they say, drive for show, putt for dough.
