You may actually be having breathing problems while you sleep, such as sleep apnea. Talk to your doctor and request a sleep study so you can be monitored in your sleep and take proper precautions for whatever your diagnosis is.

it means in when you are dreaming you will be able to breathe underwater if you breathe through your nose .
To prove this theory I think that next time you go to sleep instead of going to bed get into your bath then ask a trusted friend to quietly fill the bath with water. Caution at this stage they must not make a sound or you will wake and drown !
Let me know how you get on. :-)

Not all dreams have meaning, sometimes they are just really cool things we as humans would like to be able to do like fly without an airplane or breathe underwater like a fish. Sometimes we just need to enjoy them instead of try to over analyze them.

It may also mean that you feel you have the ability to achieve goals that are impossible. You have confidence in what you do and that's a good thing :)
