I keep having dreams featurning tonado's. I try an run away from them, but the tornadoes seem to be alive and they chase me. When I try and go underground I always run around a corner and I am on ground level again with the tornado's coming at me. If I try and hide under anything it's never big enough to cover and protect me.

The tornados always seem alive, like they are after me, they terrify me in my dreams.

Hi, there ;)

Tornadoes represent the "fear of separation or losing family." You will have these when there is a change in the family situation or family dynamic (such as a teenager in the household or marital/In-law problems), and you're afraid to address it. For instance, you may feel a need to confront a person or situation, but are afraid that doing so will push them further away and make it worse. Sometimes we think that not saying anything and pretending it's not there (even in the act of forgiveness) is the most practical answer. This is tricky. Sometimes NOT saying anything does as much "damage" and creates more "turmoil" and "upheaval" (tornado) as saying how you really feel does. Everything we do has impact. Indecision and non-action are still actions and affect the outcome of a situation. In this instance, also, you may see dreams where you're driving, applying the brake to avoid hitting something and nothing happens and you hit it anyway.

The tornado in your dreams chases you. Things can only "chase" us if we're "Running" - for instance, from our fears, a situation, a probable outcome...or something you are pursuing...and this image is trying to warn you that if you do what you are planning, the outcome might be a further rift in your situation. Chasing is associated with anxiety, apprehension, inferiority and uneasiness. All of these emotions are certainly in the forefront of a stressful family situation where you are hoping for the best possible outcome. But the most important point of all is that the object of fear isn't truly the other person's reaction to what you have to say or a decision you must make...it's something that needs to be faced in yourself. Often, it suggests a conflict between different parts of yourself (your emotional side, your thinking side, your inner child, etc.) . If you are running slower than you are trying to, then you will have to confront the issue soon because it's catching up to you. We all have scenarios like this to face, and I'm sure you will be fine.

Also in your dream you try to go underground only to find yourself on the surface again. This is significant in that you are trying to hide the truth beneath the surface (like putting on an act to keep the peace?) but wind up out in the open just as before, making your actions, maneuvers and escape plan futile. Surfaces are flimsy and false...like a mask. When it comes to an important issue, there is Never anything big enough nor strong enough to protect you from the obvious.

Whatever the situation is...past or present, know that you have everything within you to confront something that, "on the surface," seems so huge and devastating. If you deal with the underlying fear, the surface fear seems almost made up.

Only you can determine what fits here, but I hope this offers a platform from which you can determine the true message of your dream.

Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
~Charlotte.

Dreams should be interpreted by the dreamer. Check out a dream dictionary. We dream in symbols. Symbols can mean different things to different people.

You can't run away from your problems, they will always be there, and will continue to seek your attention until you turn around and deal with them....
