I've been trying to get a job as an apartment leasing consultant but everyone wants experience. I think I would be great at leasing but I can't seem to get my foot in the door. Any suggestions?

How do you know you want the job if you don't know anything about it?

Why is it that you think you'd be great at the job? Make a detailed and specific list, pick 3, and put it in your cover letter. (Ex.: I know I would excel at this job because I am detail-oriented, I communicate well, and people find me trustworthy.) Also emphasize jobs that may seem unrelated but have taught you a skill that you will use at this job. (Ex.: While working as a waiter, I learned to listen closely as well as pick up on body language so I could determine exactly what the customer wanted. I also learned to manage my time well by having to juggle many responsibilities at once.)

"Bright person with enthusiastic attitude who could pick up any job skills..." might get your foot in the door.
