It seemed to me that Rusty Wallace got overly excited in the Lowe's race Saturday night when Jeff Gordan gave Jr. a pretty good shot in the rear.

I don't think Jeff did it to Jr. to wreck him purposely. Of course Jr. got a bit upset at first, as would most of the drivers would have. Let's face it, Jr. very easily could have lost control of the car and been done for the day.

But, Jeff apologized, and Jr. didn't seem the least little bit like he was out to get even. But, Rusty Wallace seemed like he WANTED Jr. to do just that.....get even. He carried on for a long time, every time Jeff was behind Jr. and ready to pass he talked about how Jeff better make such a "wide" pass, and "he won't want Jr. behind him" etc. Since when has Jr. been some hothead out to get revenge?? I really thought Rusty Wallace was in poor taste.

What did you all think?!

Bizz ~ I'll have to pay more attention and see if I can pick up on that.

Tina~ Good point. Rusty would be better in the pits doing interviews.

Randy R~ I am still laughing at the last two sentances of your post. If Rusty did THAT it might make him more interesting.

Jerry C~ If you would like to send me a box of tissues, I like Puffs Plus!!

Rusty is not a bad guy, but he's had a "thing" for Jeff Gordon ever since Jeff came into NASCAR. Jeff was great from the get go, and took away a lot of Rusty's spotlight. Rusty didn't know how to deal with that, and wrecked Gordon several times over the years. Rusty also never got over the famous "bump and run" that Gordon gave him at Bristol several years ago.

If you pay attention to the commentators, every time that they start talking about how great of a career Gordon has had....Rusty never has much to say. Any other driver he'll say good things about, but you won't hear him say many of those things about Jeff.

He made a huge deal out of nothing. I didnt hear him say kyle busch should get back in his wrecked car and takle out jr at kansas after jr wrecked him. Rusy has never liked Jeff Gordon, its no secret they didnt have the relationship that Jeff and Dale had. Rusty couldnt accept that he was being outclassed by some "upstart" young kid. Gordon always had rusty's number, he was a better driver and a better champion and rusty is jealous of his success. Rusty should shut the hell up and stay impartial during the races instead of telling us his opinion that the viewers dont want to listen too. Drive for Five baby.

You're talking about Rusty....We all know Rusty and Jeff had their fair share of on track incidents, so of course Rusty will feed into anything Jeff might be doing wrong, even though Rusty and Jr have done the same thing countless times to drivers.

Plus, Rusty likes to hear himself talk, even if what Rusty has to talk about is complete nonsense. I liked Rusty better in the booth in the IRL series.

That was no cheap shot on Jr. He dropped from the high line into the low line, right in front of a faster car (Jeff). Jr had been running the high line all night, and to drop like that is inexplicable to me. He already admitted to his crew chief that the car wasn't handling well.
Also, Rusty needs to get his biased butt out of the booth. He still has issues about Jeff outclassing him in just about every aspect of racing. I bet, that if Jeff would have had a bad restart on the green-white-checkers, you would have heard Rusty have an orgasm on live TV. The guy just disgusts me.

Rusty Wallace makes a big deal out of everything. He sounded even dumber during the Red Flag at the end of the race talking about how important it was to Jeff Gordon to have a clean race track....duh...

It was just Rusty being Rusty just trying to stir up some controversy.. Jeff apologized, and Jr did not go after any revenge, I got a feeling that Rusty wanted Jr to go after Jeff, sorry Rusty..Jr did not have a good car last night at all, he complained all night on trackpass..

...Yes he did make a big deal out of it. I think that was Rusty's way of bringing the attention to Nascar by announcing it over and over and over. I wish they would realize that Rusty would be better off roaming the pit and shop area doing interviews with crew chiefs or something.

...Also as a Jr fan I want to thank you for your statement "Since when has Jr. been some hothead out to get revenge?"

...You are exactly right. Jr just doesn't go out and get revenge. He knows how to put the bumper to someone and so does Gordon when they get in the way. The thing is Gordon didn't try to wreck Jr.

...Rusty needs to study past announcers and learn the correct terminology so he will not be exaggerating as much. To him every things is sooooo big. He just needs to chill.

Yes, Rusty did carry on to much about it. I thought it was
neat though. I was like Jeff showing Jr. one of the things
that Sr. taught him to do. But if Jeff would have wrecked
Jr. it would have been a completely different story.

Whether you love or hate JG, everyone can look at his stats and see that he is not a "wrecker".
He is one I'd feel confident to do some nose to nose racing with and know he'd race me clean. Jr. knows that, too. If he didn't JG wouldn't of ever seen Victory lane. JG and Jr. are excellent race car drivers and Rusty was just wanting to cause drama. I like rusty..but, I guess it made people anticipate some kind of drama.

i agree with Bizz. I think Rusty still has some hard feelings against Jeff since the "Bristol Incident"

Rusty needs to learn to keep his personal grudges against other drivers out of his commentary.
