I need a solution for different color eyes?

Do contact lenses hurt the eyes? I will be in the 7th grade next Year and I wont to get same color contacts. So the kids will stop calling me strange. I was born with a blue left eye and light brown right eye. I Have been getting the "Your Weird" look since 1st grade. My Mom said its just unique because im black with different color eyes and that she will not buy me contacts because they will hurt my eyes in the Future (but if thats the case then why do they sell them?) My Dad says that their gonna get me in trouble with the ladies when I grow up ..??????

All I know is the kids call me evil or strange in class and when I go out with my mom her friends are always squezzing my cheeks and asking me to look up at them ..
Do contact really hurt your eyes if so whats another solution

If you get colored contacts from an optician and care for them properly (correct storage, cleaning solutions, etc.) then there isn't any health problems. But they don't last forever, and you will need to buy new ones quite frequently. Its when you get cheap pairs from markets and such, or you keep wearing ones that are disposables (wear once and throw away), that problems develop.
But this is really expensive. Here a good quality colored pair is around $50 - 60 and you would need the solutions and the correct cleaning gear.
NEVER ever wear a damaged contact.

Wearing contact lenses (CLs) for many years does cause anexia, no tolerance to cls anymore after some years.And DEFINITELY can cause other problems depending on your eye the fitter the handling of the lenses and your luck!
Contact lenses are fitted by Opticians/ Ophthalmic Dispensers /contact lens fitters, not Doctors except I guess O.D.s,Optometrists.
If this is a certain psychological bother though for you, then you should go ahead and try them at least for a while. Ask this as a gift for your birthday Christmas whatever. I am sure your parents will understand.
I want to remind you of at least one famous two colored eye person I liked: David Bowie. And yes, different colored eyes you will find somehow attract more of the opposite sex!
I also have found people with different colored eyes, to be either smarter or with special talents.
One more suggestion to consider: if you do not have any other eye prescription /correction requirements, get 2 pairs of the colored cls,, one light brown and one blue if you like. So you can change colors!Or if you think you cannot manage money wise, wearing one similar with your eye color brown lens when you want brown eyes and wear one blue lens on your brown eye when you want blue eyes!
Fresh lenses, good sanitation and disinfection of the lenses, as less hours of wear as possible in your case, are of key importance.
There are blinding situations that can develop in the eye, such as keratoconous check it out on wikipedia or something , my son has it unfortunatelly, and u can understand I am sure how important good vision is. Better than having two same colored eyes. So be careful. I say wear them only for cosmetic reasons: going out etc.
P.S.: Try pinching the cheeks of your mother's friends as well when they get close and say to them: "u r sooo cute too! Can you please contribute to my contact lens fund?", or whatever else you want to save for!

contacts won't hurt your eyes if you take care of your eyes and your contacts like the eye doctor tells you.. I have colored contacts.. to make my dark brown eyes blue.. if your vision is good you can still get contacts just to change the color.. they won't affect your vision at all, just change the color.. there are even colored contacts that are disposable.. after a day you can toss them.. try those.. then you won't have to worry about keeping them clean and stuff..

If contacts are not fitted by a doctor they can hurt your eyes, your mom is right. They can also be very dangerous if you are not taking care of them properly. This sounds like a self esteem issue, your dad is right though...the girls will love it in a few years=)

contacts don't hurt at all i used to have them for my eyes, but i really wanted glasses in the end but thats a different story...
They were really comfortable and i don't think theres anything else you could do to change them hmmmm...
you could always get glasses but you would probally stil see them.
If people notice this and call you names ignore them, get on with your work eventurlly people will get to know you, and realise how much of a good friend you are.
If they reallt upset you i'm sure your mam will let you get them she won't want to see you upset (you could always egzarturate :P) Good Luck!!!

this is an easy one all u have to do is say hey its not my fault that i have diffrent color eyes so you need to stop thats all you have too say and contacts dont hurt your eyes u can get ones that CHANGE YOUR EYE COLOR so its alright you'll be fine.
