She has had 3 puppies, the time between the first and second pups were 4 hours. Then the time between the second and third was 7 hours. Now, it appears that she has another puppy on the way, there is a hard lump, the same size of the 3 pups. It has been 6 hours since the 3rd pup has been born. Is it possible that this is indeed a puppy. This is not my dog, its my friends, so dont even yell at me for not having these dogs fixed. Mine are both fixed but thats all that matters. Thanks

Tell you friend to bring his Boxer to the vet so the vet can give her a shot of something that will make the other puppy come out. If it's a puppy (sure sounds like it is) and it's stuck, both the mother and puppy will die of toxicity.

This dog needs to see a vet if you think there is another pup and it isn't coming.. The lump does not necessarily mean its a puppy. It could just be the uterus contracting back to normal and will sometimes look like a pup. She is haivng uterine inertia though with that many hours in between and really needs to see a vet. I don't think you want to chance it and lose her because you would need to feed these pups every 2 hours for the next 2 weeks and then every 3 hours.. Do you have that kind of time and commitment? If not, you better get her the care she possibly needs. No sense in taking chances.

Get her to the vet immediately. She's having trouble delivering and while the puppy is most likely not going to live, mom's life is now at risk, too. Not to mention there could be other pups "behind" the one that's stuck; they will have to be surgically removed.

Find your Emergency Vet Clinic if your regulular DVM won't see you.

If money is a concern, take your credit card- time is of the essence now. Some E-clinics will allow you to do "care credit" which is a medical credit card. Some want the whole estimate paid prior to beginning treatment.

Good luck!

Somebody's gotta take her to the vet. A stuck puppy can kill the mother and any remaining puppies. Obviously your friend didn't do ANYTHING to properly care for her dog, otherwise she would know how many puppies she was going to have. But the point is that you have to make your friend go to the vet. And tell him/her to bring along a credit card, because a c-section (and hopefully a spaying while the vet's in there) will cost thousands of dollars.

I would definitely take her to the vet. When my dog had her puppies she never went more then 20 min between puppies. It sounds like she is having a hard labor and you do not want a puppy to get stuck. It will definitely kill the puppy and will kill the mother if not taken care of in a timely manner. Hope every thing works out for yea...

It sounds like she is having some trouble delivering. Most dogs do not go above 2 hours between each puppy and if they go over 3 hours- you need to contact a vet immediately. I think it'd be best to call a vet or go to one because she will most likely have at least another two or three puppies considering her breed.
Also, make sure she is drinking plenty of water so she can stay hydrated.

I'd be getting mom and pups to the vet, she could be in trouble. Your friend runs the risk of losing mother and any undelivered pups if she doesn't get help fast.

She is in SERIOUS need of a vet.

IN THE VERY LEAST she needs a shot of Oxytocin. You could very well loose the female, and any remaining puppies. Worst case, C-Section.
