How does one ween yourself off over-the -counter-codeine?

Codeine is derived from opium.. it is not an "over the counter" medicine.. you need a prescription to get it, even in cough medicines. if there is something over the counter your taking chances are it's not codeine..

Codeine is a very potent pain medication and it can not be bought over the counter. You have to have a prescription for it.

did u get this in mexico? it's prescription only in u.s. quitting cold turkey is the only way, but it won't be easy.
