Perform these procedures? It just does not make any sense!
How do can you justify this?
FYI:- I have never had one, but ultimately who are we to preach to a rape victim, a woman who may die if she proceedes with the pregnacy or any woman who chooses to do so for that matter?
Potential and future generations of abused children would not have to go through their disfunctional childhoods if only some of the abusive mothers would be able to abort them.
What about a woman who knows that that she can not provide for this child? Adoption you say.
Who are you to make a woman suffer through a pregnancy to then give up her baby upon it's birth?
Sometimes it takes more courage and love to terminate these pregnancies than you give the women credit for.
I almost forgot to mention the millions of pregnant African Mothers who the Church preached to about the sins of using contraception and forbade the use.
Most of these children since produced, are dying this very minute of Aids

The Poor Widow,
I am not speaking of the women who use abortions for contraceptive purposes. I am against this.
I gave very specific examples.
It is YOU that has assumed that I have never counseled "post abortion" women, because of this I have seen that it took a lot of courage and love for them to be able to go through with the procedure, even though it caused them great emotional pain and nightmares.
Things that are easy to do generally do not cause emotional havock.
FYI I have never dehumanized ANY child that is why I am so against
Crusades,Yours, The Crusades of history, and anyone elses Crucades for that matter.
It is always one who tries to promote their own agenda that is on some sort of crucade or another.
Tell me about all of the blood that has been shed and violence created in the name of our Father?
Zealots often misuse their religions to abuse Gods wishes.
He most certainly did not request this.

Jessky Loves,
I respect your answer and can detect from it that you at least think about important issues in the world.
Good for you.
We do not always have to agree in life, being open to discussion is a sign of intellence and true humanity, at least it is in my opinion.

*applauds* I so agree with you and I've had many arguments with Christians over Abortion and no I couldn't change their minds.
I believe if a woman lets a child live who is the product of rape and then tells that child it was born out of hatred and not love, it's cruel because that child has to live with that brutal truth for the rest of its life.
That's my two cents on this sorry.

ok this is like usuing the crusades against all christians (in politics it would be like usuing the war against those who voted against the war)
Ok I personaly, and I in no way speak for the entire christian community, believe that:
Abortions because you simply don't want a child or you were drunk and got pregnant or the condom broke or whatever else, are terrible.
If you were there to concieve the child you should be there to raise or at least make sure the child has SOMEONE good to raise them.
If you are a rape victim there is such a thing as adoption, and if we focus more on that it would be great, there are alot of great people who cannot conceive but want children.
Also, if you are going to die, like there is a serious health risk then I think (not completely decided on this one here) that you could maybe very possibly if like 2 or 3 doctors say you will die, get an abortion, but under those circumstances it wouldn't really be an abortion, just an operation to save your life.
Usuing contraception I think it ok,
It's not the best and even if you don't get pregnant or STDs you still get stuck with the emotional effects of having given that much of yourself to some person, yes even men.
I think you should think deeply about sex before you have any and I think that if your not mature enough to take care of your mistakes (kid std ect)
and by take care I don't mean murder (you can't murder an STD) then you shouldn't be having sex.
Prepare for the consequences.
Rape victims:
you did absolutly nothing wrong and you are not to blame, if you end up pregnent think of it not as a curse but as a chance for something new, for something good to come out of something bad, the lord does that, but if you cant raise the child let someone else make something good out of your bad situation, and be strong, the lord loves you.

Church propaganda. The Bible does NOT say that abortion is a sin. Since most Christians have never actually READ the ENTIRE Bible, they have NO idea what it REALLY says, except for a few carefully selected warm & fuzzy verses that preachers aren't ashamed to share.
According to the Bible, God COMMANDED his followers to kill and rip open pregnant women (Numbers 31:17, Ezekiel 9:6, Hosea 13:16), and he killed millions of pregnant women himself (Flood & Plagues). There are even Biblical INSTRUCTIONS on how PRIESTS should abort an unwanted pregnancy (Numbers 5:12-31).
According to the Bible, man became a living soul when the BREATH of life was BREATHED into his nostrils (Genesis 2:7). Fetuses do NOT breathe through their nostrils until after BIRTH (which just happens to be when they receive a constitutional right to life in the USA). In Biblical times, male babies were NOT counted as persons until they were a MONTH old, and female babies were not counted AT ALL (Numbers 3:15). The Bible also says that some would be better off if they had NEVER been born (Ecclesiastes 6:3, Matthew 26:24).
A woman can choose whether or not to believe the Bible when making her own personal decision, but just imagine what horrors we would endure if it wasn't ILLEGAL to make laws respecting an establishment of religion!

Those are not fundamentalist Christians. A fundamentalist adheres to the fundamentals of a doctrine, or faith.
Loving God with all our heart, mind, and soul is the Greatest Commandment of Christ.
Loving your neighbor as yourself is second.
Christ didn't come to condemn the world, but to save sinners.
Any fundamentalist Christian can tell you this, and will do everything in their power to live accordingly.
Extremists, or radicals are what you are speaking of. They do not represent Christianity or Christ.
As for abortion being wrong, of course it is wrong. Let the pregnancy go for 9 months and you have a child. Stop it at any time after conception and you don't have a child because it will have been killed. Use any other words for it and the child will still be dead.
We don't protect sea turtle nesting grounds, or bird aviaries to protect the land...we do it to protect the nests...with the embryos...because what will happen if they are left alone...yes, little baby turtles and birdies. Are human babies of less value than turtles just because the turtles are endangered...apparently in this society they are.
Rape victims can always give up the baby to an adoption agency...blaming the child for the acts of the father...isn't that judging the baby worthy to be killed because it's biological male sperm donor was a sick and twisted criminal? Is it the child's fault?
I understand that emotions can run very high, but if we based all our decisions on emotions, then there would be chaos and anarchy. Nukes would wipe out Iraq, racial riots would be the norm, murder would be justified because the person was mad and killed because their emotions got the better of them...
Who are we to decide that a child should die, just because another person doesn't want to deal with it?
It goes both ways...are we God that we can say the life of one child is more important than another?

How can "fundamentalist Christians....?" I am CERTAIN you did not mean to imply that ALL fundamentalist Christians would agree with killing the staff at an abortion clinic. Or did you?
A gross generalization. If you count the number of Christians in the world and then count the number of extremist weirdos who believe in the murder of abortion clinic staff, I think you will see it is less than even 1/10th of 1%.
So please don't lump the rest of us in with them.
The sexual practices of most (not ALL) of Africa have almost NOTHING to do with the church. They are deeply rooted in tribal beliefs and taboos. AIDS is an epidemic there because of the very same thing - a lack of education, tribal beliefs and practices.
Most Christians (not ALL) agree that in the case of rape, abortion comes under the theory of self-defense. And we would most (not ALL) agree that the life of the mother would be an allowable case, as well.
Some (not ALL) Christians believe that abortion, which actually kills a child, IS child abuse. And child abuse is a behavioral choice. Is it rational to say that abortion is an alternative to child abuse? That's an absurd argument. The real choice is -- do I beat my child or not?
By your illogical reasoning, there would be no American children abused, because their mothers CAN abort them instead. No one is forcing these women to have their babies and then abuse them.

Pro-Life does not involve murder...any murder.
In this, you are correct.
However, if you saw someone in a hospital nursery, chopping up the newborns, you might understand how they feel when they see an abortion clinic. To us, that is what is happening in there...babies are being horribly dismembered. It is a sickening thing.
Sure, there are some cases, such as when the woman's life is at stake, when an abortion is a sane and rational choice. Such cases ought to be left to the woman, her doctor, and her God.
Most abortions are not done for reasons like these.
Have you ever counseled post-abortion women? "Courage and love" you say. Have you ever sat with a woman who could not stop having horrible nightmares about her dead baby? Or held a woman who was lost in grief over the murder of her baby? Or dealt with a woman whose horrible grief and guilt made her literally suicidal? Until you have, you don't really know what you are talking about, nor what the words "courage and love" mean in this context.
Most women in abortion clinics do not want to be there. They feel pressured by family, friends, society, etc, to make a choice they feel is wrong. They are frightened, and lonely. They know that what is growing inside of them is a human baby, no matter how you may try to dehumanize the child in her by calling him/her a "blastocyst" or a "fetus" or even "a clump of cells". What these women need at this time is not reassurance that everything will be OK, and they'll get over it...what they need is a real friend, someone who is willing to stand by them and help them through the difficult days and months ahead...someone who is able to help her make concrete plans for the child she is carrying. They need people who have real "courage and love".
Don't talk about "courage and love" until you have seen the tears standing in a proud young woman's eyes as she hands her baby over to the eager new parents who are able, and willing, to give him/her the life she knows she cannot.
What Christians ought to be teaching is responsible sex...the "best" solution, of course, is celibacy until marriage, but we know that this is not a perfect world.
Still, if you can look at the stomach of a woman...ANY woman...who has just realized that she is pregnant, and stand there and tell me what that baby's future will be, then I need to talk to you about some lottery tickets I've been thinking of buying...

I can't say it better than Blaise Pascal: Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.
A man should have NO SAY in the 'abortion debate'; the woman is responsible for the feeding and the rearing - the man hangs around if he feels so inclined.
As far as any one telling anyone else what they can do to their own body ... I just shake my head; freedom, it seems, goes out the window when emotions become involved.
[edit]
I wouldn't mind betting most, if not all, pro-lifers are pro-death penalty too.
Thou shalt not kill - LOLz.
It's okay to kill a fully functional human but not okay to 'kill' an unborn fetus.
Wow. How do they get their heads around this cherry-picking hypocrisy?

Hello sweet one.. :)
If one kills another, in the name of God..does not mean that God approves the killings.. :(
Jesus said we are to ~Love~ our neighbors as our self..
We are not to repay evil for evil..but rather repay evil with ~Love~
If your husband was hurt and could no longer work..would it be right to kill your child or him for that matter..of course it wouldn't..
Then what does money or finances, have to do with deciding to keep a child or not.. :(
My best friend had an abortion, because she had a son and chose not to have any more children..when her son was 19 years old she became pregnant again..but decided to keep her little girl..she fell down a flight of steps and lost her precious little girl.. :(
One month later her son was killed in a car accident..she has gone into a deep depression and has been suicidal, on many occasions.. :(
I am not saying that one child can take the place on another child..because they cannot, we are all unqiue in this way.. :)
But now she does not have any children and because of her fall, she can no longer have any more.. :(
If a precious little child can do harm to us, by being considered a burden..then what does that say about us.. :(
I think we all should thank our parents, for not aborting us..and giving us the chance at life.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With ~Love~ In Christ.. :)

i don't understand it either.
these same people are also for the death penalty...how strange is that?
i have never had an abortion either, but i've known several women who had to. who am i to judge these women? how can anyone know what they go through to make their decisions?
i agree that it shouldn't be used as birth control...that is what contraceptives are for. i don't think women should get abortion after abortion. that isn't good for their bodies or their psyche.
