Really simple answer, they fear what they do not understand.
The only thing you learn from war, is how to kill one another more effectively.
Religion teaches us that if you are not one of the true believers in whatever the standard norm happens to be; you must either be coverted into that faith or be destroyed because you are evil.
My evidence to back this up: Native Americans, the Salem Witch trials, Spanish conquests in North & South America, Hitler vs the Jews, Iran and/or Iraq against the world and vice versa and this list still continues.

Do you mean why don't we live what religion teaches us?
Why does it seem people just "talk" about their religion?
Why doesn't they ACT as what religion teaches us

We are human, prone to err in our ways, but some of us do try very hard to live as religion teaches us. It is important to talk about religion because it is called "witnessing" giving personal examples as they relate to the teachings each of us have learned. Of course it is easier to just "talk about it", but what's the point? war and religion has been ever present throughout our history because there is always one sect who believes it is their "mission" to convert others. I don't believe there is so much hate between people, misunderstand? yes. No religion teaches us to hate, to kill or to lie.

I agree. People focus on the retarded aspects of religion like "Belief" and not the area's of "living in peace."

My concern is that few religions actually tell you HOW, they just say to do it. Buddhism tells you how.

They don't want to put their mouthed platitudes into action! And it's wrong, wrong, wrong! I couldn't agree with your sentiment more!
