We had the same problem during the threes and early fours. We started giving him "time out" in the corner. We chose a corner because no matter where we went, there was always a corner. A store, a restaurant, grandma's house, etc. You can always find a corner. You just need to stay consistent though. If you are in a restaurant, and the child acts up, you need to take him to the corner - despite the stares from others or the tantrum your child is throwing. We typically made our child recite something while in the corner - such as count to ten or his abc's (age appropriate of course). This did two things...1) redirected his thoughts so he wasn't screaming while in the corner or trying to get out, and 2) reinforced something educational. When he was finished, we would get down to his eye level, and explain why we were not happy with his behavior and make him apologize to whomever he had misbehaved to. It worked for us. All kids are different, but it worked for us.

Trust me though, be prepared for the stares and comments from others. I just ignored those people. My theory was that if I allowed my child to misbehave because I was afraid others would say something, then I was teaching him that it was okay to act up which would only make things worse both at home and in public.

Good luck to you.

attempt a reward chart. If she behaves for an entire day she gets a megastar. If she gets a megastar for in many cases occurring for a week she gets a small manage or present. IF she will behave for an entire month she gets some thing a splash better. now and lower back helpful reinforcements are greater useful than attempting to punish. have you ever tried ignoring her whilst she is being naughty? now and lower back even however that sounds mean, it works. they do in comparison to being skipped over and frequently act out to get interest. So in case you do no longer supply them interest whilst performing out, they supply up performing like that. this is a splash vast harder to do extremely if she's throwing a greater healthy, yet attempt it for a week or so and notice if it works. do no longer supply into her whilst she's being naughty. shop stable in what you're saying, no count how undesirable the greater healthy gets or her screams get. some little ones basically circulate by slightly and could improve out of it. now and lower back going to preschool/college facilitates them out of it. desire it facilitates, and undergo in innovations basically have patiences together with her...it's going to ensue. stable luck.

I used to have the same problem with my son, he would never listen and did whatever he wanted to the point where he told me what to do.
I asked the daycare what they did because they would always tell me how perfect he was there. They told me slowly counting to 3 and if there still not listening to put them in a time out for the number of minutes of there age. eg 2 years =2 mins.
I havent had a problem since.
While your counting to 3 it gives them a couple seconds to think about what there doing and change their behavior, and if they dont a time out in a chair makes them realize the probably should have listened when you counted.
I dont believe in spanking because I was spanked as a kid and it got to a point where I would laugh when I got spanked because it didnt teach me anything.

I have learned that counting to 3 works. and if I get to 3 my son gets a time out away from everyone else, and theTV. He is not able to see anyone. Just put you foot down and let him/her know that you are serious. If you dont start now your child will walk all over you and everyone else. Good Luck

Take him to grandmas for the weekend to get a break....that's what I did!!..Honestly, just be firm, get on his/her level to explain what's expected (sometimes they don't understand our language) give them a few things to have a say in (offering two good choices with food, clothing, lets them feel they have some control over something)....Hope that helps! Good luck :)

Get down to their level and look them straight in the eyes and tell them what you want them to do and do not let in until they finish what was asked of them.

Put your foot down and don't forget you are the parent and they are the child.
It doesn't hurt to give them a little "love tap" every now and then.
