It's annoying. I think it's an indicator of stupidity. Everywhere, people like to pretend life is grand, except the unemployment is at all-time highs(of which the figures are fake too!), the ghettos are almost as bad as Brazil's, which are located next to the pristine suburbs where people love to live in denial. The girls want to get married in their early 20's AT ALL COSTS, so they can say they are living the American dream. Then 10-20 years later, they walk around on anti-depressants moaning about their horrid life and their impending divorce.

Pathetic.

As an American in her early 20's i take big offense to this little rant of yours! I have no wish of getting married anytime soon. I do live in a so called "ghetto" and as a person who has been to some of Brazil's ghettos, i can tell you that you are way off! I don't know what happened to you to make you so negative towards Americans but it's not a very good idea to generalize like this. Other than being extremely rude, it is also very wrong.

I agree with this statement. I am American and all that is said is truth. We are the most brainwashed people in the world. Americans always have to know everything and judge everything. We are a country run by an evil and corrupt government. The media is even worse. A lot of Americans are good people, but unfortunately they are a dying breed. This country is ******, we have no future anymore.

Americans are not fake, your are overgeneralizing and on top of that fallacy, you are using false information. First of all unemployment is not at all time highs, and if you are going to say it is fake, prove it, even non-federal measures indicate what you are saying is anything but the case. Are the ghettos as bad as Brazil's favellas? Have you been to Sao Paolo? I don't think so. Do all girls want to get married in their 20's? Absolutely not. And nobody I know is on anti-depressants. So stop over-generalizing and speaking of something on which you have no experience.

You're not describing my life or the life of anyone I know, but I would agree that we are in denial here when it comes to providing healthcare, decent housing and education for our children. Instead we are squandering billions on a dangerous and phony war in Iraq. Most people here seem to wait until their 30s or 40s to get married, which can be too late. I was one of the first in my class at age 26!

I don't know which Americans you're talking about---or how many of them you actually know on a personal level. Most of the people I know are hard workers and appreciate what they have because they have earned it. I'm in my 20's and I work hard for what I have, and am I am in no hurry to get married. I would much rather be an independent and successful woman before marriage, rather than rely on a man to make my living for me.

Who are you to judge whether other people are fake, let alone "All Americans?" Have you personally met all of the Americans?--- because this would be the only way to justify your stereotype.... Your opinion is uninformed and I recommend that you get to know someone before you judge them.

If you aren't a citizen of the U.S., you've gotten your impressions of this country from the media. The media is what is fake. I didn't want to get married in my 20s. I still really don't. Some of us are quite aware of the poverty and suffering in this country and try to do something about it. Learn not to generalize.

Er, perhaps where you live...sorry, I know that happens, but I don't try to act fake or something like that.
Then again, I was only born in America. I'm 100% polish. =P

What will you be like in 10 or 15 years, and how do we know you aren't fake?

Most Americans are fake, because behind their facade they don't want you to know that they're sizing you up. In this country, WHAT you are is based on WHAT you HAVE.
