It depends upon the laws where you live, and the specific terms of the lease you signed (if they are contradictory, then the law is what you should go by). Typically in the US, landlords can enter your apartment with 24 hours notice to show the space to potential tenants, they can enter at any time to make repairs that you requested, or they can enter at any time in the case of an emergency.

I know that in Ontario Canada, the landlord has to give at least 24 hours notice before entering unless asked by the police/ems. Look in the yellow pages for our local tenant association and they will be able to tell you/you can make a complant.

The answer to this varies from state to state. I do believe though that in most states the landlord can not enter your flat without good reason. He can come in if he suspects a fire but he can't come in just to see what color your dishes are. He has to have a lawful reason for entering.

Technically, no. Read your lease agreement to see if anything states otherwise. But as far as I know (and how my apartment complex runs) they cannot let themselves into an apartment without giving proper notification beforehand. The only way they can without your permission is if there is immediate danger and you are not home (i.e. a fire, flood, etc.) If your landlord is doing this, read the lease, and contact management. Hope I helped.

the owner could have counseled you 24 hours in the previous, for the reason that this does not seem to be any emergency. besides the shown fact that, all they ought to declare is that the sockets have been a ability threat and there is your emergency get right of entry to authorization. they did no longer root around at your residence and you state that no longer something is lacking. in simple terms ask your landlord to grant more advantageous be conscious next time, which they ought to have executed subsequently besides.

I don't know about where you live, but here, he has to give you 24 hours notice before entering. Check online for something like a landlord and tenant act for your state/province. BTW if you're in Canada, you already have your answer cause that's where I am.

not unless it's in your lease that you signed. some landlords put it the lease that they can enter the apartment to fix things if you're not there. if you sign that kind of lease, then there's nothing you can do. most landlords will give you notice and they will right it in the lease that way.

Absolutely not.
Plus, if you are a woman - and your landlord male - be aware that this may be sexual harassment.
These laws, however, are at the state level; to know your state's specific laws, you might want to check out the below.

NO! You better check your house for speakers and stuff. Because my sister's flat got robbed and they didn't steal anything but they put speakers and cameras on her doors and bathroom. She found out like a week later that a video of her bathing was on YouTube.
