Yes, if you want to get the overage you paid when they withheld your taxes. Why give your money away! When they take it out of your check they normally take out too much!

For federal, if you make over $5350 for the year you are required to file. If you make less than that but they withhold anything for federal income tax, you should file to get it refunded to you.

State tax filing rules depend on where you live.

More than likely, you need to file to get all of your tax withholdings back. Do not forget your state taxes either.
