Your puppies and dam if you still have the momma should all be wormed when the pups are about 4 weeks old, then 6 weeks old, then at ever check up until their vaccine regimes are complete, the veterinarian will double check their stools for parasites.

Vaccines begin at 6 weeks and contine every 2 to 3 weeks for 3 boosters of the distemper group (your vet will explain all what is in it). Rabies is given at 12 weeks.

Deworming at 2,4,6 & 8 weeks of age.

NO vaccinations until they are 8 weeks old!!! This is per the current protocol from AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools.

Vaccinating earlier then that interfers with natural immunity, supresses immune system, leaves the puppy more suseptable to the very illness the vaccine is suppose to protect against and can cause problems with future vaccinations.

Your veterinarian should be able to give you a wormer for the puppies when they're about 3 - 4 weeks old. Shots start between 6 and 8 weeks of age, it depends on your veterinarians regular practice.

There are 'core' shots that your puppies need to have, and some others that are optional. For lots of info. on puppy shots, a vaccinations schedule and info. on the diseases these shots protect your puppies from see the url below.

Good luck with your puppies.

worming of puppies start at their 2nd week of life. I use either Strongit T or Nemex, it's a liquid and you should give them 1cc of the wormer/each puppy, every 7 - 10 days. I also worm them with Praziquantel at their 6th and 7th week, this is for tapeworm (Nemex or Strongit T won't take care of that). And vaccinations: first shot at 6th week, second shot at 8th then two more with 4 weeks interval. Rabies at 16 weeks. At this time you should also start your puppy with heartworm preventative.
