The Bible does not say that abortion is a sin. God commanded his followers to kill and rip open pregnant women (Numbers 31:17, Ezekiel 9:6, Hosea 13:16), and killed millions of pregnant women himself (Flood & Plagues). There are even Biblical instructions on how to abort the pregnancy of a woman who is suspected of being unfaithful (Numbers 5:12-31).

According to the Bible, man became a living soul when the BREATH of life was BREATHED into his nostrils (Genesis 2:7). Fetuses do NOT breathe through their nostrils until after BIRTH. In Biblical times, male babies were not counted as persons until they were a month old, and female babies were not counted at all (Numbers 3:15). The Bible also says that some would be better off if they had never been born (Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24).

i am pro-life, and that can be interpreted so many different ways, i can see abortion for some cases, like rape, or disease, or disfigurement, but to have abortions just to have abortions??? that's just murder, plain and simple murder, a cell is alive, if you don´t believe me, then how can you be walking around if your cells are not alive? Cells are ALIVE!!!

sorry for offending you. i have known women who have had multible abortions, just because they love love, and some times they miss their pills, or the protection ruptured. i am not the one who marches in protests, i was just simply stating how i feel. its not for me to judge any way.
a female friend of mine had an abortion. she was caleless with her boy friend. she told me he was not ready to be a father, so, she never told him. i did tell her what i believe, she just looked at me and stated she will not have the baby.
( she had 4 kids, and had 6 abortions, never married, the kids came from three different guys, one guy stayed with her until the birth, then took custody, the father of one guy threatened to blow up the clinic...retired military, and took custody right after the birth, the last two, she almost married the guy, but he left her with two toddlers, and her parents had to take custody...as for the 6 abortions, she told me she was being careless, and no one ever knew about them...she and i were just friends, she told me every thing )
i told her to let me drive her there and back to her home, just to make sure she is safe, she was a good friend. we just grew apart, i moved to a different state...me, i am always moving.

no, i do not judge any one, but i will state my beliefs, if you are strong in what you believe, i will suport you, that does not mean i will like it, but i will suport you...i have done that for many others and many people have done that for me.

just because i state what i believe, does not mean i condemn the people who do not believe the way i believe.

When it gets right down to it, if a woman wants to abort the life within her it is her choice to go through with it or not. We are not to judge - but we are allowed our own beliefs. So why don't you catch up to now and what is going on?

What is your point giving all these quotes? Really. That was then ... away back then. So what?!? Talk about the laws today, if you know them.

The thing you missed was what a woman, and sometimes just a teenage girl goes through during an abortion. Not all of them come out of it "ok". I believe that whatever anyone believes is right or wrong in this issue is up to them. People can change what they believe through their experiences, and sometimes, it becomes too late to change what happens now, but it might change future choices.

All that mumbo jumbo old Bible stuff is just that in my opinion - mumbo jumbo. Do we get judged for crime today as we did way back then? No, we don't. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in God - what matters is what you DO believe in. If you believe abortion is all fine and good - be there to support the women in their recovery. Talk is cheap and I don't think you have the courage to take action for what you believe is right.

The Bible also says in the New Testament that Old Testament law is dead to us. (Col. 2:14). It says that when Christ died he nailed the law to the cross with him and we are now living in grace. (Galatians 5:18, Romans 7:4,6, 2 Cor. 3:14).
While the Bible never specifically uses the word "abortion" and deems it 'wrong', it does strongly speak out against harming children, murdering innocent and being un-loving to others.
Of course, there are always people who would argue that Old Testament law is still alive for those who believe in Christ. I believe that we are living under a blanket of grace and that laws are rules are no longer necessary IF we are pursuing living under Christ's authority (because there will exist a communication between that individual and Christ that will dictate a lifestyle similar to Christ's).
I'm not discrediting the usefulness of the Old Testament, but I am saying that Christ has redeemed us from those laws that dictated the thought of that time period. Christ has freed us from those. We are in a new era of law. Would Christ encourage someone to have an abortion? I think probably not, but our choices are no longer to be deciphered by a group of priests, they are to filtered through our relationship with Christ.
Under the 'law of grace', I may choose to do anything I please and I will be held accountable to the consequences by Christ, and Him alone, not by the 'law'.

Sorry this is not a real answer to the question, but:
Hey, FarmerC- you obviously have no experience with the matter of abortion, or you'd know that women don't do it for the recreational value! "Having abortions just to have abortions"?! COME ON!
Maybe you should spend your efforts caring for the lives of those already in existence, instead of standing on your soapbox & over-simplifying the issue!

It is amazing how someone will justify the ending of a life by attempting to rationalize what they do not know.
Biblical instructions? Nice stretch.
Man did become a living soul after the first breath. That was creation not a fetus. My gosh get some education instead of berating a subject you know very little about.
A fetus does not have any rights nor is it considered human according to man's law. You did forget the scripture about God knowing us in the womb.

Considering today's birth control options (pills and condoms used in tandem if you really don't want kids) and the plan B pill (for rapes or broken condoms...it's $45 at CVS), there's really no reason anyone should have an abortion aside from one performed for medical reasons, whether you think it's right or wrong.

"And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required." Genesis 42:22.

Your biblical scholarship is better than that of many (indeed, I dare say, most) anti-abortionists, who, having seen "Thou shalt not commit murder", simply stopped reading.

The Bible tells us to cut off our right hand and pluck out our eye if they (it) cause us to sin.
The Bible tells us that before we were born, when we were in our mother's womb, God knew us and loved us.
