look at the following Noble Verse from the Noble Quran (The Muslims Holy Scripture): "That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them. (The Noble Quran, 4:156-159)"
Now compare the Noble Verses to Isaiah 52:13 "...he will be raised and lifted up....". Notice that Isaiah 52:13 did not say "....he will be RESURRECTED and lifted up...." Not even once, did the Old Testament predict for the foretold Servant (Jesus) to be raised to GOD Almighty after death. There absolutely no mention of any sort of resurrection in the Bible's Old Testament what so ever.

Here are few more translations of Isaiah 52:13:

"Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. (From the King James Version Bible, Isaiah 52:13)"

"Lo, My servant doth act wisely, He is high, and hath been lifted up, And hath been very high. (From Young's Literal Translation Bible, Isaiah 52:13)"

"Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted. (From the English Standard Version Bible, Isaiah 52:13)"

"Behold, my servant shall deal prudently; he shall be exalted and be lifted up, and be very high. (From Darby Translation Bible, Isaiah 52:13)"

The text in all of the translations above clearly suggests that Jesus will be honored and lifted up from crucifixion. He will not be humiliated and crucified.

Also, "...he will be raised and lifted up...." seems to suggest that Jesus will be picked up right from the cross, or saved right from the cross by Allah Almighty. "raised and lifted" clearly suggests that Jesus will not die, nor get crucified, but rather be raised and lifted by GOD Almighty to Heavens.

It just seems odd to see both words "raised" and "lifted", and not just one of them, in Isaiah 52:13, and yet think that they agree with the fabricated crucifixion story about Jesus in the NT.

Why did GOD Almighty choose to say "raised" and "lifted" in Isaiah 52:13?

Assalamu Allaikum, Peace be with you. In my humble opinion as a follower of the message of Jesus, peace be upon him, I had to admit as a Christian that the original Gospel of Jesus was a revealed book to Jesus alone, and this book was likely in Aramaic as this was the language Jesus, Peace be upon him spoke. I do not know how books from men titled the Gospel According to................................... entered the picture. I could not come to terms how church councils hundreds of years after Jesus PBOH could add theologies and verse about trinity to the bible.

The reason God has sent messengers after messengers to the people it seems to me is because the message gets lost over time. Why does God in the bible curse those that should add or change the bible .... it is clear in that warning that this is going to happen and those that have will incur the punishment.

I have 2 bibles at home, one has different verses left out than the other one has left in..... how can this be?

I would love as a once Christian and now Muslim to read and Revere the original Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Adam was not an Adamian or a Christian, he worshipped God.
Moses was not a Mosian or a Christian, he worshipped God
Abraham was not an Abrahamian or a Christian, he worshipped God.
Jacob wasn't a Jacobite or a Christian, he worshipped God
Eve was not a Eveite or a Christian, she worshipped God
Mary was not a Maryite or a Christian, she worshipped God

Muhammad was not a Muhammadan, he worshipped God
Jesus was not a Jesite or a Christian, he worshipped God

I just want to bow and place my forhead onto the ground and worship my Creator...... if I am doomed to hell because 5 times a day I bow to God and I believe in Jesus and Moses and Adam and Eve and Issac and Ishamel and I will not pray to anyone else except to God than may God have mercy to me...... I believe in my heart the message of the Prophets, associate nothing and noone with God.

Jesus, peace be upon him told us that he had nopower except from the father.

I just want to pray, worship, ask for forgiveness and try to do good and rely upon the Mercy of God the Creator of the universe.

We are not to judge.. this right is God's alone and He will settle our disagreements.

No mention of Ps 91 there. As for "raised", ever hear of the resurrection from the dead? Now as a Muslim you consider Jesus was a prophet. Right? So when

Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise." Mark 9:31
After his Resurrection:
Jesus told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day" Luke 24:46

do you think Jesus was wrong, lying, or what? OR is it that the "Jesus" you believe in is not the "Jesus" of the Bible?

Here's something you might not have thought of - before sharing your ignorance about Jesus' death, why not read the eyewitness accounts recorded in the gospels? What are you afraid of? Are you afraid you might end up realizing your "prophet" Mohammed is a liar?

The crucifixion is an indisputable fact. You fail to realize there is more to the ministry of Jesus than the culmination of the crucifixion. Messiah was cut off in the middle of the 70th week and there is yet to be more accomplishments of the prophecy. I'm sorry you cannot see the possibility of the crucifixion and the culmination of righteousness in the earth. There is a difference between Christians and Islam. We realize the peace is more powerful than war. Love is greater than death and you will regret your decision for all eternity.

What exactly is your motive my friend?
Do you wish that a fundamental Christian start criticizing our Quran?
You left out very many texts in the Old Testament that says clearly that the Jewish Messiah would be killed by his own.

My friend, you do not have the right as a Muslim to Criticize Christian Scriptures on a forum like this. You may do it within a Muslim group but it's bad taste to do this here. Do you understand????

Psalm 91 was written before Jesus was even born.

What *I* don't understand is why you'd take the testimony of the Koran, which was written in the 6th century, over the testimony of the New Testament, which was completed by 95 A.D., on this subject.

P.S. The prophecies regarding the Messiah in the Old Testament DO refer to suffering. I suggest you reread them.

You are entitled to your beliefs. I'll accept that. But you're wasting your time if you think you understand the Bible better than Christians do.

Symbols are only the vehicles of communication;they must not be mistaken for the final term or the tenor of there reference.
Hence the personality of or personalities of God represented in trinatarian dualistic Unitarian terms in polytheistic monotheistic or hedothiestic terms pictorially or verbally no one should attempt to read or interpret as the final thing
The problem of the theologian is to keep his symbol translucent so as not to block the very light its supposed to convey.
To mistake the vehicle for its tenor not only risks spilling valueless ink but valuable BLOOD.
Your fundamentalist reading mistakes God for a BOOK .
DO you worship a book or God?
People who worship books and not God slam planes into buildings and Kill in the name of a book, Be they Muslim christian or Jew.
Love all your Neighbors not just the ones who share Your symbols and your language. If you dont you dont worship God you worship a Book a tribe or a language.

I will ignore your question and point out the fact that the new testament talks about the death and resurrection of Jesus in great detail. are the words really more important than what happened?
As for psalm 91, clearly you lack the understanding of it, but that would make my answer too long

When I read Psalm 91, I take this undisputably as a promise that God will not allow his righteous one to be without His help. He says he will protect them and exalt them if they completely trust in Him. Isa 40:29 says: "Those hoping in Him will gain power...they will not tire out and become weary..they will mount up with wings like eagles.." Christians are never left alone to fight their spiritual battle in remaining faithful to God and His Christ.

The scriptures in Isa 52:13-15 and Isa 53 relating to the humiliation and death of a servant of God, Christians see as prophetic of their Messiah, Christ Jesus. The Apostles quoted from these chapters as recognition and fulfillment in Jesus. Isa 53:5 shows that he suffered by inflicted wounds.
For those who were put to death as serious criminals in the 1st century Jewish culture of our Christian era (worth noting,) he was impaled, as it brings out in Greek scripture. Please cross reference the verses in Deuteronomy 21:22,23 and compare them also with the account of Christ's execution. Despite the fact that he was innocent of charges against him he died a torturous death--Isa 53:3-7,9; Mt 27.

The verse in Isa 52:13 is in harmony when it describes correctlly as being raised up and lifted up in that this one the Messiah was resurrected shortly after his death. He was exalted or raised up also in that he was given a name far greater than any other amongst man and angels--Ac 5:31; Php 2:9-11

The term to raise up is likewise given to God in that He is exalted in the eyes of those who praise Him-- Isa 25:1. Also it uses the term to raise up or to exalt in a less humble sense in Mt 23:12.

The different languages may take on multiple meanings for one word. As an example the Greek word "Love" has 4 words to describe this one word that we use in the English language.

Peace and Agape.

You are full of it.

Well, if you want to get technical, Jesus WAS raised and lifted up on the cross.

He was also raised and lifted up at his resurrection.

As for no Old Testament references to the resurrection, try Psalm 16:

"because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. "
