Do you think it's possible that Father God might be spanking you?

2007-10-14 10:22:31 · 22 answers · asked by frenzy-CIB- Jim's with Jesus 4 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

To the atheists:
I apologize if I seemed rude. That is not my intention.

Lady and JB, sometimes it takes a very big hammer. I'd be willing to bet that none of them even considered this possibility before. We know that God chastens. Is there any reason we should be speaking it?

Oh, and JB, I do pray as you stated.

*shouldn't be speaking it*

To my way of thinking, if God is spanking you He must think there's a possibility He can reach you. I know not all of you are as staunch in your atheist beliefs as you seem...

I know what you mean, but God doesn't "spank" anyone. We all have problems and issues in life, because it is karma. Debts from past lives, that is. But I think atheists come here because God makes them come. Although they might not admit it, they are learning and progressing through what they read here.

Peace!

So God is therefore rewarding all the rich happy atheists?
(It would seem to follow, if your speculation is true)

But note from the bible poor Job, who got it in the neck just to prove a point to Satan, or the poor folk under the tower of Siloam, who *weren't* the worst sinners in Jerusalem.
(just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or did God decide to hit them with a tower for some other reason?)

Actually I am doing quite well for my self. I actually became happier realizing the truth and becoming an atheist. I think when I was christian I subconsciously knew it was all bogus. Thats why I was unhappy back then. I was living a lie.

Its like I am going through life living it to its fullest now.

What about those of us who got in and out of the market at just the right time and made enough money to retire at 40?

I am very successful. Also, a lot more content since I gave up on god.

Since there is no father god, I think the possibility factor is zero.

now, now...you're just going to get them all riled up, and they'll be demanding that you make a rock so tall that your sky daddy can't get on it to mount up on this invisible pink unicorn or something like that...or they'll just sue you for forcing religion down their throats!!!!

Intersesting that he would concern himself with atheists more than unsolved murders and world hunger.

The rain falls on the just and the unjust, dear.....are you saying that all Christians are rich?

Please....get your faith straight and worry about the beam in your own eye.

uh, life for me sucked when I did believe in god... having a genetic disease does that... and so far, after I stopped believing, life has maintained its suckishness.
