between all the racism, sexism and outright murder that goes on in the bible, why should anyone beleive in god...i also forgot the total lack of evidence.

and then theres evolution, christians beleive in micro but not macro? seems to me like your saying "well at 60mph i can see you going 1 mile, but not much further". why cant you extrapolate micro-evoltuion on to millions or billions of years

please dont pray for me or tell me not question god, just answer some of these questions...and if you think you got prove of god, bring it forward ....odds are its BS but im honestly interested in hearing what you got.

and just a extra point for you science buffs out there....down syndrome is an example where new genetic information is added to the genome (it doesnt matter that it may not be beneficial, the point is there are mutations that increase information in the genome)

The reality that we are products of a natural universe and there's no magical omnipotent daddy in the sky to take care of us is just too scary for some folks. And, for them, the comfortable fiction of religion is reason enough to ignore the mountains of discrediting evidence and all the self-contradictions in the bible. Reality is frightening and courage is in short supply.

Because He is real. Why do we believe in gravity? Because when we let go of something we're hoilding, it drops! The greatest proof that God exists is the very fact that we deny Him so much.

Humans are not origional thinkers. We try to make sketches of 'martians', but they always end up looking like a combination of different things on earth. If there were no gods at all, then how would we be able to think up such a thing? There is a God, and He is real. He sees you right now, and He knows everything you've ever done, said or thought.

Yes, Down's Syndrome is an example of the parent's bodies dysfunctioning and the child having extra set(s) of Chromosomes. But it (as in all cases of mutation) ends in disaster. Do you really see it as a 'foreward step' in evolution? Is it an improvement to the human race? No, it is a very sad disease.

I think it is logical to believe in God,as it is impossible that everything - all those billions and billions of types of molecules- just sprang into being, arranged themselves into the pattern that is just right for life and promptly breathed life into themselves. There is no effect without cause. If you were walking in the wilderness and came across a watch just laying there on the ground, you would know that someone made it as there is no way the minerals cut and polished themselves into all those little cogs and wheels, fit themselves together and then started moving of their own volition. It's the same when you look at the universe and how our galaxies are arranged, like our planets spin round themselves and the sun in specific orbits...And look at al the mathematical rules that govern the universe!
I do not believe in evolution as I don't believe you can create or change a fundamental part of your physical self...An experiment was performed once where 21 consecutive generations of mice had their tails cut off at birth, leaving them without tails and never using them.Did the following offspring not have tails when they were born?Nope. There they were.
In Down syndrome it is not that new genetic information is added to the genome (I am a pharmacy major so I know what I am talking about). It is that one of the chromosomes fails to split,so the egg ends up with 24 instead of 23 chromosomes and so the foetus has 47 not 46 which is abnormal for a human and causes that syndrome. It is not genes that have come out of nowhere.
I should point out that I am muslim and find that all my questions regarding proof of God and whatnot are very satisfactorily answered in my religion...And Islam has been described (by non muslims, mind you) as the only religion that is in harmony with the findings of science...One proof is the description of the stages of he development of the foetus in the womb mentioned in our holy book the Quran,in wonderful detail,1400 years before anyone had ultrasounds or whatever. And the description of how the Earth's crust is made up of tectonic plates...
Maybe you should research it.You have nothing to lose if you are not convinced, and much to gain...

It doesn't matter what one believes.
Or if they believe in God. You would still question them. Just because you can not find any reason to believe.
You think your belief is right. As do those who believe theirs is right. So does that make you both wrong?
Or just the ones who don't believe or believe?
How can you ask a question, if you yourself, can't even bring forth proof of what you say!
That God does not exist. You only see what you want to see. Whatever else is beyond your reach. You assume it don't exist. because, you can not grasp it. so therefore.
you yourself can not find a reason to believe. So you look for proof.
So how does that make you right?
Thats like asking where did all the differant kinds of flowers trees, grass, and everything else out there.
That no one can answer.
Where did everything else under the sun come from. Can you prove they just existed.
Or were they here before man? where did everything else in existance, come from.
And how did it get started. Did everything under the sun just appear. Where did the mico's come from. And how did they come into existance.
Everything has a beginning and end. So where did everything else begin.
If it all started with the big bang. where did the big bang come from?
As well as the gasses the created it?
Nuthin can't exist without something.
And something can't exist without nuthin. You ask those who believe in a"GOD" to prove "GODs existence. When you know your self. It can't be done. When i put this to you.
Bring fourth your proof.
That there is no superior being, Or a "GOD"
Bring it fourth, and let it be known to man. that you have, verifiable and unquestionable, and no doubt, to man. That you have proven beyond reasonal doubt. that.
"THERE IS NO GOD".
Bring it fourth for all man to see. Instead of hiding, behind a name on a screen. And placing on a religous question and answer board.
I challenge you. to prove to those believers. that what you say is true. And beyond reasonal doubt. Bring it fourth. Bring it for all to see who have read your statement, in this Q&A board. I challenge you.

The five proofs that God exists using rational thinking by Thomas Aquinas:
1) Aguement of motion: Everything is set into motion by something else, but some unmoved mover had to set the first object into motion. This unmoved mover is God
2) Causation of existence: Everything was caused by something else. We were caused by our parents, and likewise an uncaused first cause caused what came after to exist. This uncaused first cause is God.
3) Necessary Objects: There are contingent beings and necessary beings. All contingent beings were brought into existence by a necessary being. All contingent beings were created by a necessary being. There had to be a necessary being that was always there to create the first contingent being. This necessary object is God.
4) Degree of perfection: We all have had some desire to be perfect. Therefore, there must be a degree of complete perfection out there somewhere. This degree of perfection is God.
5) Intelligent designer: Common sense tells us that nature has an intelligent design. Therefore an intelligent designer must have come up with the design for nature. This Intelligent designer is God.

These are the five proofs that God exists without use of faith.

if there's no God, there was no purpose to life.
billions and millions of years of evolution is less credible than us being created beings.
the bible is one of the way that God manifested his existence, and all throughout this book faith has been stressed. apart from faith (which is believing what we cannot prove) it is impossible for us to prove it, so is evolution.
world events prove this book to be true.
scientific breakthroughs does not prove anything against creation because no matter what man discovers in the past, now or in the future, he has to always go back answering how things started from the beginning.
the old and new testament made it very clear how it all began, "In the beginning..."

Because God in His mercy has given us a way to escape the Adamic curse. That being the new covenent of grace which we recieve by faith in our Lord Jesus & His perfect sacrifice. You probably don't understand because you are of the sinfull nature, but there is a way to escape for you. Admit that you are a sinner repent ask God to forgive you & invite Jesus in your heart & you will be saved. Wouldn't that be worth eternal life insurance. Peace & Love!!

God created man and gave him free will, thus the questions about whether He exists...there is abundance of evidence that God exists, however, what I call evidence, you call hogwash. You're not interested in what I would consider evidence, because you're already calling it BS.

The true questions is why, as a cynical, judgemental, unbelieving individual, you care whether ornot God exists? If you ever really want to hear the truth, then try talking to a Christian without the wall in front of you so that they can really tell you about salvation.

1st off some one should believe in God because if you don't believe in something you will fall for anything. Second, in my opinion, i world rather live my life like their was a God and die to find out their wasn't, then to live my life like their was no God and die to find out there was. Going along with no evidence, that is a myth, more that 300 bible concepts have came to pass, as they said they would. Also the ones that haven't are said they won't until the end of time. Along with this no other collection of writing has followed through on so many concepts over a period of over 1,000 years! Thus, i believe their is no lack of evidence, just a lack of faith.
