LOL...I love the folks to preach and never really get around to answering your question.

First, what sort of income do you have? If you have a job, and have been there for a while, then you can use that security to your advantage.

Many banks look at your credit history and stop there. You need to talk to the loan officer, explain your situation, and show them your income. If they won't work with you, look around. Go to a credit union.

If you don't have a secure job or decent income to support the loan, you may not get it. Especially at this time, when banks are getting nailed left and right with bad debts.

And, ok...I'll preach too. I hate to see new couples start out their life in debt. Asking for money from the families isn't always practical either. Just scale back a little bit.

Don't go into debt for a big fancy wedding. Cut back to what you can afford. Fewer guest, smaller reception, less dress. You can have a very nice small wedding.

If you credit is poor, the only loan you'll find will have outrageous interest. You'll be paying it off for 5 or 10 years!

If you want a big wedding, put it off till you have the cash to pay for it.

Don't listen to the guy above me. You may not be able to get a loan. If you have been denied more then once. You may have to cut back on your wedding or wait to get married. Why can't you just have a judge or justice of the peace marry you now and then you and hubby can save for a bigger wedding later? If he isn't helping you maybe you should re think the marriage. I mean, why do YOU have to pay for it all?
