Although there are variations on how to do this, here's how I make it:

6 Chicken thighs, seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic
3 T olive oil
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup sour cream
1 T dijon mustard
1/2 cup roasted chicken gravy
1 lb button mushrooms
1 family size box chicken Rice A Roni or Wild Rice

Saute chicken in skillet in olive oil. When brown, remove and deglaze pan with wine. Add mushrooms and season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Saute until reduced in size and juicy. Add gravy, mustard, and sour cream. Return chicken to sauce, cover and simmer until cooked thru. Make rice and spoon chicken and sauce over the top. Yum!

Cream sauce is easy, in a saucepan put in about 3 tbls butter, melt it alittle, over med heat. Add about 1/2 cup of flour and stir into the butter, this is a ROUX...or the start of cream sauce. Stir to cook the flour and pour in heavy whipping cream about 1/3 cup at a time and stir to blend all. You will need to keep adding the cream, also can use part cream and part milk, or canned milk and a little water OR THE WHITE WINE about 1/4 cup..... The amount of liquid you will use should be about 1 1/2 cups or so. Add salt and pepper to taste. This is pretty much the basic Cream sauce recipe, for Chicken I would add a bouillion cube and omit the salt. When ready mix in your chunks of Chicken and if you need to thin down the sauce/gravy taste it first and decide if you want a bit more wine, or just thin with milk or water. Add some parsley flakes, and serve it over rice or noodles.
