What you and assorted others fail to comprehend is that the drivers race in any different case interior the 1st area of the season through chase. meaning some drivers take larger hazards based on the reality that the standards will in actuality be reset for the final 10 races. Jeff Gordon has taken hazards that he does no longer have without this format getting used. through fact of that he in all threat have been given a pair of wins the place it could have been too volatile to objective and stay out if it improve right into a season long conflict for the championship. different drivers might have sacrificed factors early on through fact they figured they could take a shot at a win in the event that they have been already very actual interior the chase. every physique knew what the gadget improve into while the season began and that they have all saved that in the time of thoughts while it includes race thoughts. in simple terms through fact some human beings nonetheless shop track of driving force's factors under the previous gadget does not advise that those factors may be the comparable if we've been nonetheless employing that approach of determining the champion. Jeff Gordon is extremely gifted and interior the suited 5 drivers of all time yet he has additionally been slightly fortunate this year. while his engine did no longer blow at Dover, while the rain shortened regardless of race that improve into etc. i'm no longer saying he's the place he's at through fact of success yet you're making it sound like no person else even merits a shot at it through fact they are no longer even on the brink of him.

I feel there are really only 3 racers who could possibly win the points championship, Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, and Clint Bowyer. I really don't like to admit it but its true, I personally am a Denny Hamlin fan.

There's no way that Jeff is going to race for another 15 years, he's already made that very clear.
As far as the championship goes, I'm hoping that he does pull it off. But I've got a bad feeling that he's going to once again get screwed by this new points format.
The best driver is NOT guaranteed to win the championship with the new Chase system.

its a 3 man race right now. we don't know jeff could have a bad race next week and bowyer or johnson win and throw the standings into another tizzy. in my eyes it looks like this is jeff's year to win his fifth. i can probably give a more definite answer in 2 weeks but not right now.

It will take an Act of God to keep Gordo from winning #5. No Driver has won Back to Back Cups since Gordo did it in '98. So JJ's chances aren't very good unless Lightning Strikes Twice !

No Doubt, He will go on as the, Greatest Driver of All-Time.
He doesn't have far to go. with 82 wins so far and this will be his 5th Championship. (Record is 7) He has a good 15 years years of racing ahead.

Maybe if he can stay out of trouble and have good finishes or Clint Bowyer or Jimmie Johnson can win the championship.

He should win it. Johnson and Bowyer are the only two with a chance to win it other than him.
