I'm not trying to be gross, I have a real question. I have a growth on my left nipple. It's right next to my real nipple, but only like maybe a half centimeter wide and as high as my regular nipple when hard. It doesn't look like a complete full extra nipple. I'll try to describe it- you know the little bumps around your nipple? It's like a bunch of those bumps grouped together but vertically, not flat, if that makes sense. Is this just a weird skin growth or a third nipple? If I want to breastfeed later will I have to have a removed? If anyone has had this, how much will it cost to have it removed? Will insurance cover it (if it DOES affect breastfeeding) or will it be considered cosmetic surgery? Thanks for all your help.

Only your doctor can tell you what you have.
Some skin cancers can present this way. Some of the warning signs for skin cancer are if the area is asymmetrical (that is, not even all around,) if it is growing, or has changed color. If it is a skin cancer, it needs to be removed as soon as possible and yes, insurance should cover this.
If you are pregnant, and this has appeared since the start of the pregnancy, it may be a skin tab from the extra hormones in your system. (If it is a skin tab, it will disappear after delivery, so nursing won't be a problem.)
Make an appointment as soon as you can. Good-luck.

I have kinda the same situation it is very normal maybe skin tab??? I have one coming right under my eye:( and It stinks, when I asked my doctor my insurance would not cover it unless it was bothering me to the point of seeking medical care. Try going to your doctor and tell them it hurts you and makes you have pain on that area. I hope this helps you, Manders
