They can protest when they want too.BOCA DEL RIO, Mexico - Opposition protesters egged and then tore down a bronze statue of former Mexican President Vicente Fox down today, just hours after it was erected.

Workers put up the commemorative statue before dawn in the city of Boca del Rio, in Veracruz state.

But by 9 a-m some 100 angry protesters, many of them members of the Institutional Revolutionary party, or P-R-I, surrounded the figure.

Fox, of the conservative National Action party, ended 71 years of P-R-I rule with his historic election in July 2000.

The crowd launched eggs at the statue, fastened a rope around its neck and pulled it to the ground, breaking off the right hand and damaging the base.

Boca del Rio Mayor Francisco Gutierrez de Velasco, a member of Fox's party, condemned the acts but said municipal police did not intervene because the statue is the state's property.

An inauguration ceremony scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled until further notice

I enjoy the info. If only those Mexicans would take it a step further and keep the momentum going to STAY in Mexico and fix what's broken there instead of sneaking over the border in an attempt to turn USA into the Mexico they want.

They need to finally realize that the Mexican Government WANTS them to leave Mexico and never come back.

It's not like they print this document for Rich and powerful Mexicans to cross into USA illegally:

for my area, former Mexican President Vicente Fox insisted on staring on the unlawful immigration subject strictly in terms of hard work. which skill, he basically seen each and all the no longer undemanding artwork unlawful immigrants from Mexico contributed to america and omitted any achievable possibility that the unsecured borders might pose. even though no person ever had to confess it, Fox knew that his government did no longer cater to its own people, nor did it make too many efforts to strengthen the pastime industry. With that being everyday, and seeing what number Mexican electorate have been stepping into into the US, he used the US as a scapegoat--a neighboring us of a to place the blame. putting up the wall could be discriminatory and against freedom? hardly! it might have basically forced Fox and his administration to certainly "sparkling-up" their act and grant for the people of Mexico.

Gee, just wait till Fox hears about it , he was steamed when he and his wife were stopped in a USA airport check in because his wife was carrying to much face cream, and had to discard the tube. He has highly outraged that they did not know who or what he was, and said that they would never do this to Bill Clinton. Bill only almost got impeached and removed for a stain, I guess he doesn't know much about how things are done in this country. Can you say, elitist

While PRI was a problem--I'm certainly no fan of Fox's either.

He didn't do a darn thing about the drug cartels.....at least the new Mexican president has begun to address that.

ANd his little touring of the US right now discussing Mexicans right to the American dream is really ticking me off when he links this sentiment to comments on US domestic issues.

And his use of the word "we" in the world against the US....don't get me started.

Whoops....i started talking about Fox...and --hey what was the question again?
