...If I remember correct the reason why the chase came into place was to keep someone from running away with the points. The original idea of the chase was to try to keep fans interested in the last few races so they didn't loose money.
...Their solution doesn't fix the problem. In fact it probably makes it worse. Also another user here in Yahoo Answers posted a question about the seats being empty.
...Since 31 drivers didn't make the chase there is a lot of fans that really hung up this year as having hope for their driver being in the chase. That might have had something to do with the empty seats.
...So yes - I think the chase should be dropped all together. Now trying to get Brian France to understand that will probably never happen but I would be willing to bet he is getting a good idea of the effect of the chase and the growing disapproval amongst the fans.
...Maybe the side of Bill's head needs "tweaking"...lol

Ah, not a Rusty Wallace fan, have to agree, I spend most of the race yelling at the TV "Shut up Rusty!"...........I also agree that they need to make some major changes to the format. First of all this 35 rule has to go. Do you realize that without that some of their Chase contenders would not have made Talladega? My husband and I both believe that if you bring your car, driver and team to a track and qualify, you should race. Isn't that what racing is about? I don't care who you are. If that is not what they want, then, they should have some kind of format at the beginning of the year setting their field at 43 if that is the number, and tell everyone else to forget it. There is too much money being spent by these newer/younger teams to be sent home week after week when they can qualify (Boris Said comes to mind). This is not about the fans anymore......That said, I will still watch and b@*%& every week anyway because I usually enjoy the racing itself.

Well first thing they have to let the CAR OF TOMORROW go faster. They do have to make some rule changes.
