Thank you for making such a valid point. Of course, we all know they are praying to Lord Krishna or any of the other Gods.
No really wishing well for others can not be considered pray. You most first believe in what you are praying to in order to send that energy there. You have your beliefs allow others the same.
Peace and blessings to you.

Do you know many Atheists? Why would they not make wishes etc? What has wishing someone well or a happy birthday got to do with religion? Birthdays are not religious festivals you know! Why would Atheists not want people to be well? What a very strange attitude. I am atheist. I do all of the above.

your question is misguided. When you wish someone goodwill do you actually believe you are praying for that person? I hope not. Good wishes like 'happy birthday', 'i hope all goes well for you' etc are a show of support, has nothing to do with religion and so your religion has no monopoly on it. I wish people good will alot and i am atheist.
PS: Atheism is not a religion. Why can't people resist from fashioning it like their religious faith?

Huh? What has making wishes got to do with anything? Where did you come up with this anyway? I am an atheist and I wish people and sometimes I wish for items like "why can't people understand atheists?". :)

Why wouldn't atheists make wishes?
I make wishes all the time. I just don't expect some supernatural force to make them come true. That's my job.

In life, there is only directed effort and random chance. Wishing and hoping will never effect either, so why do it?

Atheists just don't beleive in God.
They still beleive in making wishes, (they just aren't to God)
They are not rude, they still tell people to have a good day, to be well.
Just because they do not believe in God does not mean that they are mean, rude and nasty people.

I think you are confused. Atheists can and do say all of those things. They do not condemn others to Hell for having the audacity for holding different beliefs.
