I 'know/speak' 5 languages, but i'm best at speaking 2 of them. I'm learning 1 of them and the other 2 I use to learn them, kind of.

English is my first language, I know Cantonese (not alot, but I speak it to my family sometimes, I don't know how to read or write it though), I've learnt German at school for 3-4 years and still am now, That's about it really but I know a bit of Japanese, just phrases, numbers and random words =(^-^)=

I speak 3 languages...

And know a 4th language but have a hard time to speak or understand it when its spoken fast :D

I'm good at 4 languages and the 5th is Japanese, but I don't consider myself to know much Japanese, I can't speak in Japanese, I just know a few (regularly used) words : (
my Japanese is very baaaaaaad!!!!
so I know 4 languages only!

English and Spanish. I've been trying to learn Greek forever, but not even 1/2 of my family could teach me. Lately I've been picking up a lot of Portuguese.

What do you mean by " know" ? knowing of only few words & phrases of any language or knowing means that understandibility or fluency of whole language ?

Whole language = Urdu.
little bit understandibilty= Arabic.
Few phrases or words= Sindhi, Persian, Spanish.

I'm American so I'm fluent in English.
I am learning German at school.
My sister has learned to speak Spanish so I can understand it very well but I'm not that good at speaking it or writting in it.
I know a few phrases in Icelandic and I hope to learn more.

I know English, Chinese, some Italian, some french,a little bit of Spanish and is learning Japanese.
