Ok, everyones answers seem all cool and stuff but not exactly correct. If you have failed to ship out and want out of your contract you need to go back to your recruiter and let him know. Most that will happen to you is that they will give a either a general discharge or nothing at all.

I'm pretty sure that you can find yourself in a bit of trouble. I also believe that there's no way you can ever go back to the military. Then again...they are kind of desperate right now. Regardless, you get a dishonorable discharge and that can really screw up your life.

You'll probably end up with an ELS but not much else. The Navy nor any other branch will touch you later because you've already proven unreliable. They won't waste any more time or money on you. You've burned your bridges to the military so you'll have to find other work that suits you.

Remember to say, "Do you want fries with that burger?"

nothing... your not really considered in the military until you complete basic training. Going back would take a waiver if you want to join the same service! who picked you up from MEPS? Because that is where you sign the final contract. I'm sure your recruiter drove you, so who picked you up?

Did you go to stupid school? If you have not been sworn in, you are not a member of the military and not under its rules, otherwise you are and are risking a punitive discharge that will haunt you the rest of your life. You always have the opportunity to do poorly in basic training and be honorably mustered out.

Entry Level Separation (ELS). Look it up. You won't get a discharge classification (DD-214) because you weren't in long enough to merit one.
