Is your brother-in-law married? Then leave well alone, if he is gay then he will do something about it, and it is none of your business.

It's hard to know what the 'signs' are that someone is gay, to be honest. One of my best friends is gay, and I know as soon as I met him, but not everyone has the same 'gaydar' as I do! Often it isn't obvious. And the idea that only gay men wear pink and are interested in clothes and art is rubbish - my husband is definitely not gay, wears pink, likes art and is interested in clothes ... You could always ask your brother-in-law (if he isn't married), but I would advise discretion. Don't ask in a room full of other family members.

There are no 'SIGNS' as such. Why don't you just ask him? As it is a senstive subject make sure you approach the subject matter with care and don't just rush in and blurt it out.
